I thought he was too skinny when we got him. He was good when he first started getting a senior gig but after the run of injuries he had I think confidence and then development was severely damaged beyond repair.

The strange thing was during the finals Malthouse spoke of Guy Richards building confidence and the fact that he finally felt part of the team...Pretty sad that he was just starting to feel part of things and then got the chop. Oh well a better player wouldn't have taken so long and ended up so short of average... lol Good luck with being the Worlds Tallest Garbo!
Tradition? Pfft you call merging with Fitzroy and cheatin to 3 flags Tradition? Winning 4 flags in a row is history, which makes tradition!

There was a stage a few years back where he was getting injured in the warm up at Willi on a regular basis...I dont think anybody would get through the same and build a sucessful career. What could have been...Who knows, if they keep him great but I doubt we will see him out on the park again.

if i remmeber correctly he had a good year on 2004 and when he came back in late 05 and early in 06 i was thinking that its only because he has just come back from injury that hes playing bad.
since then ive come to realisation
that he is absolutely shit and shannon cox should be in the first 22 ahead of the unco we call guy richards
shanon cox is a good footballer and deserves to be playing in the first 22
144 days to go!!

Richards may give Fanning a good run in the Reserves in 08. Then again Fanning may give him a bath.

Hi Woody...Bye Guy.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Touted as a first round draft pick, I don't remember that.

At the AGM that year, Mick talked about his booming left foot kick, I wish I could have seen it just once over the 6 years he was with us.

the games changed now. to be a ruckman these days u have to be able to run like the wind, take big marks, kick goals and be an excellent tap ruckman.
