Mainwaring is tragically dead and that is it. It serves no purpose to now chase a front page headline with the cause of death. The hurt for his family and friends will be immeasurable. I am disgusted by those who take cheap shots at anyone in this very sad and tragic situation. If it is drugs, then I am not sure what it will take for the AFL to act to prevent more tragedy?
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

To say the more than 20 posts deleted from this thread were 'insensitive' is putting it mildly.

I'm off to bed. The next mod on duty may feel like unlocking this.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Opened on the proviso comments are resticted to messages of condolence. If you want to speculate/moralise, do it in the Sun death notices, I'm sure they'd be only too happy to publish it...NOT

The fact is only that a man has died young and left a grieving family behind. I think that deserves respect. I'm not suggesting anyone pay homage in any way - I'm just saying that attacking him after the fact is disrespectful and unnecessary.

I'll say it again: RIP Chris Mainwaring is all anyone needs to say, if they want to. Is that so hard?
Well said PP.

Absolutely tragic news. Condolences to his family, friends, and former club.

I saw it on the channel 9 news today, and I cried my eyes out.

Seeing all those players, family and friends in total devastation just made me break down. Especially when Guy McKenna was crying through his speech. And then they showed people who attended and Scotty Cummings was bawling his eyes out. It was so upsetting. And also when they showed his little boy crying.. Those poor children :(

RIP Chris..

May you be remembered always, as a wonderful father, husband, friend and sportsman.

Love always, Alyssa xoxo

Did anyone hear the rumour that Clinton Grybas died sleepwalking last night? Apparently fell over and cracked his head. Terrible news.
