Qld Magpies to fly Solo in '08

After much discussion between committee and members the Qld Magpies have come to a decision to run the year out without an official alliance with the Collingwood Football Club.
We felt that due to the timing of the changes, and the fact these changes are yet to be implemented, we did not have enough time to please our members with their requirements with our game at the Gabba only weeks away. This has nothing to do with dodgy books, and we will continue to send our books to Collingwood in the future, as well as having already paid our fees for player sponsorship in 2008.
We have released our function packages for the game, and will not be selling any memberships in '08.

How will you go organising game tickets without an alliance with the Club?

Thanks to you and everyone for their support .
We will be purchasing tickets from the Lions as we did last year. Even though we are the enemy, they are extremely easy to work with in this regard.

Phhhheeeewwwww! I knew you would come through with the goods (only panicked a little bit and started contemplating getting tickets elsewhere), but good to see everything up and running and another big night coming up at the function and game.
I will be there and will get paperwork back to you ASAP, but from myself, and no doubt a hell of a lot more of us out there, many thanks to you and your team for overcoming the club issues and coming out the other end with flying colours.
