when you go against the crowd, you have to be prepared to cop it.

its just human nature.

its just like in footy when you switch the play. can reap rewards or can backfire big time.

how about we dont give dave preferential treatment

if anyone else had made those kind of negative threads they would have been shot down in similar ways

DTM, im not saying that you should stop voicing your opinions, but rather when you make negative threads, be prepared to cop negative reactions and defend your opinions.

The problem is, when DTM posts stuff others dont agree with...many posters simply take it as an opportunity to just attack DTM rather than what he has posted.

Criticizing his grammar is just completely pointless. If you honestly dont understand what he is trying to say...then fine, ask him to explain himself. But theres one poster in particular that I can think of that repeatedly asks dave for explanations in a curt and rude manner....when even Stevie Wonder could see what DTM was getting it. This poster is either a complete idiot, or an antagonist idiot. Either way, its not DTM's fault.

DTM, if I was going to give you one tip to avoid this kind of crap though...it would be to try and choose your words a little more carefully...especially when criticising a collingwood player or coach. Type your post, then read it to see if it needs to be toned down. Especially in Round 1.

Otherwise keep up the good work, some of your stuff is pure gold.

Dave

complaining will only give the complainers something to go on and knowing its getting at you will make it worse.

I admired you more when you took the crap they gave on the chin

You have one reason most of the time for posting and thats your love of the Mighty Magpies.

Keep posting Dave and those who don't like Daves style should not open his threads and just ignore his posts.

Dave has added a lot to the site and continues to look for the latest news day in day out in an attempt to share his devotion with others

Why don't we give DTM his own thread named DTM Rants or something where he can blow off his steam and keep it all in the one space.

lol DTM if you want to survive on a Bulletin Board, not just this one but most, then don't take what the tossers say personally, Bulletin Boards are like the playground at skewl, there's those that think they own it and there's bullies who think it's a good place to put people down.

You cop crap because you are very active, and just like anyone else who has been very active on here you get snipped by the bored or those that have nothing better to do than stir people up, you're not the first to be singled out because your active and now doubt you won't be the last.

The trick to surviving is ignore the tossers, read what you want and take what enjoyment you can out of it and f#ck the rest, half of em are only here to have a argument and stir people up for there own small amusement.

give em the bird and get on with it.

DTM, you are able to edit your initial post after other posters have indicated there appears to be something wrong with it.

Answer me this; Do you want people to read what you have to say and then comment on it?
If so, make it readable so people can decipher it and then enter the discussion with you.

Most times I think you post crap, I'm sure I am not alone. I don't think you want people to think you post crap, I'm sure your heart is in the right place, why not preview your posts before you submit them.
Then read them from the point of view of other posters.

You might know what you mean, but will others?

See how its done DTM?

Try not to take it too personally. Unfortunately people can be very critrical at times.

I myself do not like it when people are downright mean, we are after all here for the same reason our love of the mighty magpies !

Go on loving your team and offering your opinions :)

There is absolutely no excuse for getting the spelling of a players name wrong. NO EXCUSE AT ALL!

What makes it even worse is when the player plays for the team you support.

Yeah, I stayed away from Nick's for years, cos I'd heard some pretty nasty stuff about the carrying-on.
Now that I'm here, I can see that it can be like that ........ like hungry snappy fish waiting for a bite, then there's this frenzy of chaos, till the next bite is taken!
I can also see that there's lots of other stuff that goes on, funny, heaps funny stuff, and good info too.
DTMs comments are just part of the mix.
DTM, if you feel picked-on, maybe just back-off for a bit? Let the fish find somewhere else to feed

You're doing well DTM. The quality of the information you bring us has really improved since you first started posting. As Zakal said just try and calm down after games before expressing negative emotions. I know it's not easy.

For starters you post every thought that comes in your head when most of time we already have an appropriate match thread. This clutters up the board, it means you have to wade through 6 DTM threads for every worthwhile thread when you could have just posted in the match preview or match review threads. Imagine what the forum would look like if everyone posted as many topics as you did. There would be no replies, no need to make posts since all thoughts would be encapsulated in topic form.

Second your opinions tend to be very fickle. Last year you were saying what a gun Clarke was and then after ONE bad game you say he needs to be dropped. You said the same thing about Thomas last year. At the moment you are a wrap for Wood but no doubt if he doesn't play well next week you will come up with a thread saying how he is no better than Richards or something ridiculous.
