Never expected us to win but the so called 'effort' has been pathetic.
I've seen better skills from under 12's.
Egan....fck offff.
True Egan is Useless and a Surban Team could beat that lot
Absolutely right Dave the Man. Vermont in the EFL would give our ressies a complete bath!

Finally, everyone has come around to the fact that this year is supposed to be for development of the younger players.

However, things were very different a few short months ago.

This tells a very sorry story.

Collingwood

Best Players: J. Barham, K. Dyas, D. Stanley, R. Colbert, B. MacAffer, R. Frost.

Dyas spent the last quarter and half on the bench with an injured calf, yet still gets second best.

Lonie got the medal awarded by the ABC, so obviously they know nothing.

lonie got the medal for 150 years of footy or something it had nothing to do with the best on ground. 2 players 1 from each side were to get that medal. they thought lonie was best for pies. maybe him kicking 3 goals had something to do with it

How were those two players determined?

Captains? If so, Cox should have gotten it?

Who received it for the Bugs? Tivendale? If so, he was named as their best.

And, that car would be that poxy blue Falcon Ute that was sitting on the trailer.

The same vehicle that has already been thrashed by the previous five players voted as BOG so far this season. I'd hate to see what it looks like after the season.

I'm just wondering where you sit on everything Dale? Is it a year when we establish the VFL club, develop the youngsters in various roles that Collingwood can determine, incorporate the various VFL only players into the team.

Or do we have to win every week or it's all a failure?

To be honest WKB, it doesn't really concern me as I stated my loyalty to a VFL side long before the season started, and that teams colours aren't black and/or white.

In the VFL scheme of things, I'm more than happy with how my team is travelling, thank you very much.

I appreciate that. But now any opinion you have in this VFL forum regarding Collingwood is now considered redundant.

No, I would say that my comments would be seen from someone who isn't sugar coating them and viewed from someone not wearing black and white glasses.

Once all the homers realise that what is being done with the VFL team is not working, and once that reality sets in, people will look at the team differently.

The idea was to develop players in the positions that MM wants them to play in. FFS, there is no chance in hell that Egan will ever be a backman, so why do they persist?

I am just as critical (when needed) of Williamstown and Bulldogs players on a Bulldogs BB, but at least the Bulldogs players give 100% when playing for Williamstown. Remember last year's Preliminary Final? Don't tell me the Collingwood players didn't drop their bundles that day. They just plain quit trying!

The VFL side needs to put in 100% for four quarters before they will be taken seriously. You'd be surprised at how many people are actually laughing at how bad the side is playing.

Go back and read some of the threads I posted earlier. Most posters were saying that the VFL Flag was a given (especially after the Geelong practice match), whereas in reality, they could be fighting for the wooden spoon with Box Hill.

If my comments are now considered redundant, then so should any of those from people who don't attend VFL games. That would make for a pretty dull forum, wouldn't it?

Wrong, the idea was to use players in a way that better prepares them for senior footy. If they think that Egan will be a better forward or mid with more exposure as a defender then they should continue to do that. One of the biggest issues with Egan remains his lack of accountability so this actually makes sense.

you're kidding? half of our first 22 lined up against what looked like the manangatang 3rds. we really do have some dreamy supporters if they thought we'd get a vfl flag this year.
