In 1979 a young pimple-faced mulleted Maco kid hit the park and the whispers went round "How good is this kid going to be?" Those whispers steadily became a roar.
In 1994 another mullet of a different sort hit Victoria Park and once again the whispers went around the outer and once again their grew to an almighty roar.
And it goes back further than that. Tuddenham, Thompson, McKenna, Greening, Price, Rose, Fothergill, Whelan, Richards, etc, etc, etc.
2007 has seen the emergence of the next in a long, long line of supremely gifted Magpie champions and yes I wholeheartedly concur. A future premiership captain and the future is a lot closer than many may think.
This is 2008.

same for me
give scottyyy one or two years
(we all know he has bled for this club)
then give it to pendles or thomas or maybe even maxwell
get someone who will be there for 10 years
Josh Fraser and Jono etc are mid 20s and will be there for 4-5 years
pendles thomas, shaw 9-10 years
it makes sense

Collingwood F.c: Why would I go for anyone else?
Collingwood: Its not just a Football Club, its a way of life.
I LOVE ARSENAL F.C.
Maybe it's because you could quite easily have written the seven words "Scott Pendlebury will be our next captain" in the the umpteenth thread about the captaincy that's currently doing the rounds and has three pages of replies?
And if you really wanted to contribute that debate, you might even offer up some reasons why you think Pendlebury will, or should, be the next captain.
What makes you think "Scott Pendlebury will be our next captain" is worthy of a thread in its own right? It's barely worth a reply.

Jesus (sorry to all the religous types) but this post has seriously deteriorated
Anyway I think Pendlebury will eventually be the captain of Collingwood, but not for few years yet. His still young and has alot to learn about football both on and off the field. Giving such a young player that kind of responsibility, and the assosciated pressure that goes with it, can put a serious dent in his on-field performance. Especially when he'd be following arguably Collingwoods greatest ever player and captain. At this time I think it would be both better for the Pies and the players if a more experienced member was given the captaincy.
My two cents.
A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated.

Has Pendles kicked the ball longer than 25 metres this year?
I'm a bit worried about his half back flank possessions which all seem to result in a little chip back or sideways. We need him delivering sharp and long inside 50.
