very true noone forces us and we love Collingwood so much thats why we do it but we dont like the way the club has been heading as far as on field performances go and noone seems to listen to us so the only way to do it is in one big force and stop buying membership however even this may not. I am not saying we should stop at all though cause i love the club too much but what the friggen hell is gonna make this club improve for us supporters i wanna know???

I however am not so silly anyway i have my other teams to go off to and be a member of which slightly distracts me from Collingwoods current shit however nothing hurts more than to see my number #1 Collingwood in this state.

Ha, ha. Spidergirl, you named a name, even though it was not a player, and it drew a response.

People can get touchy, when a name is named, we have seen it time and time again. I gotta admit that I bitch about the club's "administration" (mostly past, but present too) more than anyone on this page, but ignorance has mostly kept me from naming names.

I have always wondered why we went after Balmey, his record at Melbourne was not exceptional, but weren't those 3 and 4 year players like Woe recruited while he was there.

I always figured we hired him to help out Shaw, in communicating (and building a rapport) with the players. But Shaw is gone now!

He must be useful? He is certainly respected, else Eddie would have given him the boot (unless he signed a good contract).

... and I think the "ignorant" jibe drew more support for Spidergirl than the "groupie" jibe.

... and it was only last season when I came to the realisation that Collingwood could not realistically win every game it played. I changed my mind again after the first five games, but then after nine straight losses, it was back to reality. It breaks my heart to see Joffa acknowledge the same as his passion for Collingwood, is like an ocean to my lake.

well gyro being "the man" from collingwood that you obviously are or at least seems to be implied from your comments tell us why we can't fit any out of contract starts under the salary cap when we have only Buckley that deserves and commands a large salary?? guys like Glen Freeborn must be on half million - pity for what he's given us he would be worth about 1/5 of that. a team that has finished 14,16 and 15th in the last three years shouldn't have salary problems cause obviously very few players deserve decent money.sorry if this is an ignorant post to your mightiness but us supporters have suffered too long and your statement about "if you don't like wbat the club does stop giving them money" is great - hope you don't work for them cause you might be one of the first redundancies as they quickly go broke.

the problem with the cap newelly is the fact that the AFL forces all clubs to spend 95 % of their wages on the current list of players, and what that means for THE CLUB is we have had to pay this money out to individuals who most definately did not warrant this level of payment (only through necessity though) this then causes problems when trying to resign a player to lesser money when we are trying to target a big name player. Now if we sack any player i.e. delist them, we must still include that salary in our salary cap, if they are not taken by another AFL club. We would most likely be sweating on this in the case of orchard, watson, patterson and saverio. First and second year players have a set salary again under AFL guidelines so with having so many 1st and 2nd year players we have to be paying quite a bit of money to some of the other players, quite a bit.
