To be honest, I don't chase footballers for signatures & stuff, I couldn't give a rats kohona.

However, it does pi$$ me off when I take my daughter sometimes to training (we can only go on the school holidays) & I see 40yo men (don't they have jobs to go to?) lining up for photos & signatures for their jumpers & memorabilia all to be sold on eBay I bet!

They push the kids aside, then shove textas & stuff in the players faces like idiots!

Then there are the 15-16yo giggling school girls creaming themselves over Thomas, it makes me wanna puke!

My daughter has only ever had 2 photos taken with players at training & that was with Buckley & Burns about 2 years ago. And THAT was bad enough. NEVER AGAIN!
WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

N.Y METS, N.Y GIANTS, PENRITH PANTHERS & HOBART HURRICANES FAN.

WE ALL LOOK GOOD AT TRAINING, IT'S THE MATCHES THAT COUNT!

How many children do you have? So you think it can never happen?

I wonder if anyone chases Ben Kinnear's autograph?

Possibly not, but I've seen Ben chasing fans around, wielding an over sized novelty pen. I wonder what he's after? :?

Could be trying to find out the address of Jamie Turner (by the way, I heard he is a bit arrogant)

I don't think it's fair to label them as giggling 15yo's. My nephew is 15 and an avid golfer, he was just as keen on getting some of the golfers autographs when he went to one of the majors here in Melbourne.

To these kids, 15 and giggling or not, they are heroes. Even to some of the 40yos, they are heroes.

I take your argument about them pushing kids aside, that's not on. But just because they're a little older or giggling teenagers, doesn't mean they don't see them as heroes just as young the kids do..

It takes all kinds, and these players are what we pay all our money to go and see. So, in reality, we could all be giggling teenagers, we DO pay the money for it. I know I do!

I'm tipping Jamie might have been turned off by you mentioning facebook or myspace or whatever. Not everyone is into that garbage and he may feel that he was a chance of being exploited in some small way. Collecting autographs from players at football club functions is perfectly normal. When they are out socialising with friends or family is not normal. Your story is bordering on stalking.

Totally disagree here, Dan has gone up to Jamie, explained that he was very desperate to obtain his autograph as he was a 1990 premiership player. Jamie has then told him to go through several different channels to obtain it and then not come up with the goods. If he wasn't going to sign he should of said he'd prefer if he got him signed at the bar that he obviouslly often frequents.

More to the point, I am 100% behind Dan here, this does sound very very arrogant from a fringe player at best, sign the stuff and be done with it!

Careful not to generalise here, my old man still gets a new jumper signed for the collection every year.
