money is not important to me but it would help if i had itTess wrote:Kingswood wrote:pisses me off that eating healthy is more expensive than eating junk
im really trying to manage, but with the time i spend at work also its hard finding the right stuff to eat and i usually just opt for some cheap, rubbish dinner at the end of each day, and now i have a stomach cramp ohhhhhh
If money is that important to you, enjoy your cramps.

i'm living alone for the first time and don't know how to cook as well so relying on eating out...Tess wrote:Sorry if I sounded harsh but I have always been careful to eat properly no matter how busy I am. Here is some actual advice Kingswood (rather than tell you how bad you are )
*Swing by Safeway on the way home and grab yourself a pre packed salad, an avocado and a few slices of cold meat (Pastrami is my favourite)
* Just because the local fish and chipy has greasy food, it does not mean they do not have some healthy food...opt for the grilled fish instead of battered and deep fried and most chipy's have burgers so guess what?? they have stuff to make up a salad, ask them to do a side salad and add whatever you like....If you get that you can feel better about the Pauls Billabong you have for desert...
* switch to water...seriously it is free (well kinda) and it is much better for you
* When you go through McDonalds (even though I never do this) just have a look what else is available....the Deli Rolls aren't too bad, and have a diet coke instead of the super kind or an orange juice....they sell a garden salad as well and it is really not that much more than a large fries.
*find a good local pub or RSL, most days they have specials and there are pubs around that have really nice cheap meals that at least have the old meat and 3 veg, you will be surprised at how little difference there is in cost and it tastes so much better...oh and they usually get it out you pretty quick as well.
* I used to take a microwave egg poacher with me on the road, they are compact and can do eggs in about a minute...half dozen eggs in the fridge and a loaf of bread....(most motel rooms have a toaster), spread the toast with some sour cream or seeded mustard and enjoy some yummy poached eggs on toast for breakfast.
* Safeway also has pre-made fruit salad as well, grab a twin pack of passion fruit yogurt and that makes a nice breakfast or desert.....
OMG I sound like the Womans Day!
Cheers

^thanks mate for the efforts
i forgot to mention im living in a totally new city - doha. so still figuring out whats good here, and i dont have a car so can only go to places near me. and trust me this city was not made for walking.
the supermarkets are terrible. they dont have prepacked salads and microwavable food to take to work. well the one next to me doesnt,
anyways as for salads, at work theres an undless supply of fruit and veges so im never short on that. however when meal time comes i'll be starving unless i eat some real food
i know good resteraunts here, but they are so bloody expensive. thats where my complain came from
also i drink soft drink maybe 2 or 3 times a year. i'm a water fanatic. i always advise people to do the same. the difference is remarkeable

Wrong thread for diet tips (although, not bad NP)
What pisses me off is the dentist. How the F&ck did he get that angle grinder in my mouth? geezus. Fixing a filling, I could handle the drill until he swapped to one with a lower frequency, then (although It didn't actually hurt) the vibration went down my spine and I was damn near floating an inch off the chair.
Then he decides to clean them for me. FFS, I cleaned them this morning.
Lastly, trying to get up after laying down for an hour with my feet higher than my head and walking like i'm pissed. The girl at reception asks me if I want a glass of water. FFS, I've just swallowed 8 litres of water while they've been drilling.
While I'm on a roll, I may have done this before but why can't woman listen with their mouths shut?
I go to a meeting with mostly blokes, one person talks at a time. Go to a meeting with mostly women and it's a free for all. One is talking, another diagrees and starts talking as well. Neither are actually listening, just both talking at the same time. Cue down the back, someone feels left out and starts talking to the person across the table from her, who of course talks back, but not in sequence, at the same bloody time.. Before very long, 100% of the women in the room are talking all at the same time, to no one in particular and no one is listening to a bloody thing that's being said. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there trying to decide if what I'd like most at that point in time is 4 panadol; a bottle of Scotch or an Uzi.

No Davis was a chicken that spent the night at my house last night, don't know where it came from, just found it in my drive way. There were two of them but my dog ate one. And then there was 1, number 1, Leon Davis = Davis.. Anyway, I was really starting to like that chicken

Something that does piss me off sometimes, inparticular at school. Is when people walk around with the music on their phones blaring out loud. I'm not sure why they do it. I, for one, don't want to listen to whatever sh*t music they like & besides, there's only so many times you can hear "Low by Florida (sp?)" before it loses it's meaning and gets just plain annoying.....

and i generally agree. during our daily conference call meeting at work, there is this one women who calls in from dubai and she is unstoppable. literally. she cant be stopped. every day the meeting is spent with one woman's voice blaring out of the speaker, and four guys hunched over the telephone saying "roula.........roula........roula.......roula....."
you just can get a word in haha
reminds me of seinfeld when he's complaining about that girl that would talk a lot over the phone
"you pick up up the phone...and she's in the middle of a sentence! and there's no pause in the conversation where you can say, well.....ok its been nice to talk to you"

hahaha, i had a woman at my last work who when she drew breath to speak you could comfortably walk off, get a cup of tea, have a chat with someone else, have a birthday, come back and finish the conversation with an 'uh huh'. she could talk underwater.Kingswood wrote:you close your mouth when you're talking to me!! lol i love that line, stui magpie wrote:While I'm on a roll, I may have done this before but why can't woman listen with their mouths shut?
