opinion of whether or not we believe this bloke has done enough to gain promotion to the senior list in 09??

i say do it! from all accounts and what i have seen live and on tele this year and last, he has improved significantly enough.

 I agree. Brent macaffer has been in great form. especially seeing he has just come back in after injury and probably is still carrying. great tackler and excellent hand and ball skills. good on lead and fast. probably one of the best set shots in team (kicked 70 in 2006) and kicked some great on the run turning goals on the weekend. height NOT a concern ..if ball is delivered out on lead he is hard to catch and is a great running mark....can't see why he won't get a go sooner than later. has impressed more than others ..seniors included

I say elevate him now and give him a game or two before year's end and assess from there.

1.) We currently have long term injuries so there is a slot for him

2.) With Ruzz, Ried and Rocca gone our forward line has been decimated

3.) Was the leading goal kicker in the comp in his last year of TAC

He lacks height but is very good overhead, good lead up player, accurate kick. Could do worse than give him his chance.

He is listed 187cm on footywire, not really lacking much height there.

I know one thing eight goals in two weeks in this side is equal to about twelve in a decent one.
He won't be going anywhere
I have it on good authority
It's a done deal

good call rand corp.

rocca long term list (not worth the risk for his future to rush back) elevate macaffer and give him a crack!!

also mr chairman you're right if he's kicking bags in the VFL imagine if he got some AFL standard delivery?!

i say elevate him because we need another forward for the seniors now. also at the end of the year the magpies have to decide elevate him to senior list or get rid of him as this is his 2nd year as a rookie.

I think he will get a senior list position in 09.
His development is coming along nicely.

Not ready for the AFL yet but he is getting there.

Not ready? Frank, respectfully, this is the third week in a row he has starred. He kicked half our score two weeks in a row and has bagged four goals out of our total of nine in the first half today. He is worthy of a crack NOW more than any other in the magoos, except maybe Anthony.

5 straight today with 29 possessions agaisnt Boxhill........ elevate now !!!

Some say he might lack a bit in the height department but he's so strong overhead, leads well, chases and tackles......... in other words he puts in and gives 110% give the guy a go !!!

29 possessions? he also plays in the midfield??

since we have to make a decision this year, you'd think he'd get a call up. and you know malthouse likes to judge players in the big games

Malthouse was talking to him at the Frankston game and told him to keep up the great work and gave him good encouragement !!!

I reckon this guy is great, he's tough, strong overhead, can kick goals has dicipline and gives 200% (not saying that a couple of others in the 2's don't) but anyhow; luv Brent Macaffer and with his efforts he deserves a stint in the AFL !!!

Macca got 17 touches, not 29.
But he did lay 7 tackles and play a great game.
Definitely deserves his chance.

I wayched the game on TV and liked the look of him. At 187, he's not a monster but he's big enough to play as a leading forward. The Bulldog's two key forwards are Johnson and Murphy and he's taller than both of them.
