I watched the first half. Very ordinary footy by our boys. Lonie was the only one who was doing anything from where I was sitting. Forwards just had no hope, the run off the back just completely broke down over the middle. Frosty looks promising.

Is that the final score?

If so, it must have been an action packed, edge of the seat second half!

Eddie Sansbury is in the best every week for Ballarat, laidley obviously hates him.

Him and Egan...Add that hard edge that's lacking.

I forgot, its all about toughness at collingwood, not talent, thats why Maxwell is first picked every week

I agree Eddie, not every player has to play like a bull.

Plenty of unaccountable players in top sides that are all skill and no grunt, the reality of modern football.

Glad to see Dawes and Macaffer in the best. I assume Fraser did nothing much (other than kick two goals).

I think the club needs a rethink on whether this experiment in the VFL can be improved. The boys need to recruit some hard nut senior VFL players (not on our list) to strengthen the side. There's no point getting smashed every week. We need to develop a winning culture.

the club will have a better understanding of what they need. the team was cobbled together very quickly.

I thought Stanley backed up a good game last week , with a solid one this week in a deplorable effort by the team. Dawes attacked the ball well and won a lot of the contests he was involved in , and took some nice marks. His kicking for goal was poor , and had 3 genuine set shots for goal in the second half. Lonie hung around and got his handpasses out the back , then trotted , or started running then stopped , he seems to have lost a lot of his penetration by foot as well. I'm not sure the team should throw him so many chips , as it is counter productive.
Cook didn't make the best and drifted in and out of the game , but he atleast provides some hope , with his ability at times to do some thing explosive amongst a sea of plodders.
Fraser didn't play the game with much authority , there was no real presence even at VFL level. He meandered about did a few things , but didn't do a whole lot.
Barham was quiet today and couldn't get in to it. Macaffer had no chance playing as a deep forward.
The rest of them we know about and have seen before.
Umpiring was terrible as usual , must have kicked half of their goals off soft free kicks inside 50 , or 50 metre penalties.

I had a quick roam down there today, I thought Lonie was easily our best, not much else to report, although Fraser isn't 100% and is still 2-3 weeks from the seniors. Dawes is about the only one who is pushing for senior selection.
