Yesterday my school performed at the QLD heats of the Rock Eisteddfod.... OMG! I had an absolute blast!!! Probably can't go through it all now but summary: left at 4am, travelled for about 5hrs by bus to Brisbane. Watched some other schools practice then we had our run through, heaps of people said they loved it. After lunch we had a meeting thingo & ended up dancing to music & this kinda mosh pit thingo, was SO much fun! We didn't perform until about 9pm last night, I was so excited! We did so well, my cheeks hurt so much from smiling!
Then we had the awards presentation..... we absolutely cleaned up! we got 11 awards!!!!!!!!!!!! The most of any school at the 2 Brisbane heats!!! We were SO excited & every time we got an award we would scream so loud.... I think I've nearly lost my voice....
Then, when we stopped for dinner on the way home (bout midnight) & we were told that WE GOT INTO THE FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was so excited because we weren't sure that we were good enough.
Now we have to keep practicing & make the performance even better for the finals in August!!!!!!!!
<---- VERY happy!

I was looking after Chelsea, now 3 year old grandaughter, and made her some PJ pants, easy as for me, but not confident with the top. Gave it a try, and with Chelsea sitting along side me watching every stitch, I told her that I thought the top was going to look ok. Chelsea then told me with her 3 year old wisedom, "See Grandma, you just had to give it a try, and you CAN do it!"

I just found my grade for the final exam for the course I've been doing. They had the results listed by student number. 24.7 out of 30 which was 2nd best.
Considering I damn near didn't do it at all as I'd just about given the text up as a bad joke and the main essay required me to comment on the overall premise of the book (which i hadn't read).
Maybe I should have posted this in the "what did you find Odd" thread, but I'm wrapt.
Might have to think about doing the other 3 subjects now and actually getting a qualification.

Happy that I am enrolled in Uni and making a change in career direction by doing a Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) - with a heavy slant on sport management....looking forward to a job in the PR department of Collingwood one day....so I can have all you Nicksters shouting at me and calling me names....oh wait, I am a mod here...that happens already!

My Daddy had to have a procedure in hospital in Brissy today & I haven't spoken to him since he left on Monday. I was able to ring him in the hospital just before & talk to him so that made me happy! Looks like most of the procedure went pretty well from what he said. Only thing he doesn't like is lying down for the last 12hrs, not fun lol

3 great male role models, spanning different decades.
80's - Al bundy
90's - homer Simpson
00's - whatever the hell the name of the character that Charlie Sheen plays in 2 1/2 men
Codiene and red wine is good too.
