Caffa --- how long to wait

Post by girlpie »

Im just sick of waiting to try new kids. Senior side has been crap. Kids in ressies trying their guts out and getting no rewards. But if you are in the seniors and play crap you keep getting a game. Caffa has been consistently in the best or the best for months now. He is hungry, and fit and can kick goals. He can also play in the midfield and back. At what point are they going to reward him BEFORE another club sees how good he is going to be or he just loses incentive. How must he be feeling. Where's the faith MM. Reward those who deserve it and drop those who don't!!!

MM told Caff at the Frankston game (April 2008) that if he strung another 3 or 4 consistent games together he'd be elevated................ maybe he meant 3 or 4 years !!!!

I totally agree girlpie, the seniors aren't travelling too well yet the young fella's are not being rewarded for their hard work.

Quite a few were elevated last year and they and the fella's around them lifted and did really well.

They've seriously gotta look at Caff, Dawes and McCarthy; Casey-Leigh is starting to show some consistent form and Barham will only improve with game time. The future can look bright, but only if these kids are given a go and not just one week but minimum 3 on the trot and we are running out of time for 2008 !!!

I can't understand MM playing injured players - Leon Davis for example when we have Jaxon Barham with just the pace we need not getting any senior experience .
Mc Caffer is built like a senior player & can't get a gig & on yesterdays performance Dawes can't be far off a senior game .

If MM doesn't think we " have the cattle " maybe he should look at the reserves .

We can't just throw 6 new players in the deep end unfortunately.. there would be no point.. you have to groom them, ease them into it. When you have a youngster playing amongst a team of seniors trying to guide and help them out, then there is no excuse for total lack of performance. Its the best way to see whether they are at the mark or not, up to AFL standard.

Our forward line hasn't really been the drama (apart from losing Rocca, Reid and Rusling, two of which have played very few games). Medhurst has been a revelation, playing the same role as Brent Mac. Cloke has struggled with top defender attention since Rocca hasn't been there. We're giving Dawes a shot this week so we'll have to see how that goes. Give him a couple of games to perform then maybe try Brent Mac if Rocca isn't fit.

Whats the case anyways with his position, do we still have to elevate him, shouldn't he have been elevated already for Rusling?

Caff definitely deserves a chance...but at the moment there isn't an opening for him. If he comes in it would be at the expense of Medhurst or Anthony and at the moment neither of them deserved to be replaced.
