Message to JAJH
Hi there,
Just wanted to say from one dad to another what a proud dad you must be. What is it 8 straight games, 17 goals 3 behinds, playing a position he probably hadn't played for a long time if ever. That attempt to foil a kick, then mark as he was going off injured then to goal...that's very special. Not to forget the goal into the wind!!!
Anyway well done to John and all the Anthony clan.
Kind Regards

Had he held onto some of those marks inside 50, which he very nearly did, it would have been an unbelievable performance. As it was he was only outstanding, and has played like a veteran since breaking in.
Forget about position, anyone who can take a contested grab and kick straight can play either end - which is precisely what JA offers. Premiership teams often have a swingman like Paul Abbott for Hawthorn and Roger Merrett for Essendon in the 80s, Silvagni, Leppitsch, Hunter in the 90s/00s. At the moment it looks like we could be blooding two of them, JA and Brown.

As an aunty of a fairly handy athlete, there is nothing better than seeing them succeed. JAJH must be stoked. Young Jacko is playing very well. I did have a bit of a panic when he got hit in the noggin. He's doing something some of our forwards haven't been too good at recently. Kicking a goal!!!

Well said guys. Love the way he plays, just goes straight ahead no matter where he's playing on the field.
Keep going John.

Congratulations to JA and family
what a new shining light he is and we are all looking forward to more.
Its fantastic to have a thread of praise like this for JA and threads for the other young lads coming through who are doing the jumper proud.
This is what side by side we stick together means.
Once a player dons the black and white and has earnt his place to take field in the firsts he is Collingwood for life.

Its has been awesome to watch him play...congrats JA...
Also congrats to CFC and their recruiting ppl......last few years have shown new talent which i think has surpassed expectations of where we'd might expect these kids to be....JA has been fantastic amongst others also....
but to see JA's commitment to the footy....proud to wear to black n white stripes as a supporter

Yes, congratulations JAJH. To see Jack back up what we have always know about him (application, physicality, team orientation) with goal kicking skills with consistency is fantastic. I also think he will start getting greater accolades as people move beyond the stereotype of him as a "goer" and notice his skills.
This side has been desperate for a powerful yet skilled presence like JA, especially since Clemo retired.
