The chairs ok, but it seems to be developing a nasty stain on it.
Which 3 players made up the full forward line for Collingwood in the 2003 grand final?

i was looking at the team wondering how we got there in the first place.Nath wrote:Need we ponder why we lost?Jock McPie wrote:named: licuria, kinnear, davisraymond35 wrote:The chairs ok, but it seems to be developing a nasty stain on it.
Which 3 players made up the full forward line for Collingwood in the 2003 grand final?
BETTING: Brisbane $2, Collingwood $1.80
AT SELECTION: Matthews's faith in those who have served him well brings Marcus Ashcroft back into the 22 at the expense of Tim Notting, who is one of three Brisbane emergencies. Malthouse, on the other hand, has turned not to experience but youth for a solution to the problem created by Anthony Rocca's suspension. Tristen Walker has been preferred over Steven McKee and Jarrod Molloy.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Reputations are hard-won in football but, equally, hard to lose. Brisbane is ageing and ailing, a brilliant side still, but one that is declining, not improving. Think of it this way - would the 2001 or 2002 Lion sides defeat this 2003 combination? Absolutely. And yet a mystique, a reverence, surrounds them in a way reminiscent of Essendon's 2001 side, which was surpassed as the best in the competition well before the grand final. Collingwood will miss Rocca, but by virtue of its tightly controlled, low-scoring game not nearly as much as if the team's success was predicated upon, say, kicking 16 or more goals a match. Collingwood's symbolic victory in the qualifying final was largely achieved by restricting Brisbane to seven goals, not by blitzing the scoreboard, and came with a peripheral contribution from Rocca, anyhow. The Lion crusade has been superb but the circumstances of this battle suggest that it is a campaign too many.
PREDICTION: Collingwood by 28 points
