Edge of your seat stuff.
Think you've done a great job David. Stick with the 3-2-1 format....reckon anyone who puts in the votes wrongly just gets ignored. The majority of people give their votes proparly, so just take those into account.
Congrats to Dane Swan. Really, thinking about it, thats a huge achievement because the votes of Collingwood supporters right across Australia have been tallied for each round.

Agreed. Lets do a poll. Personally I'd prefer a top 5 instead of 3.By the way, I think the idea of a poll is worth doing. I'm quite happy with the 3-2-1 format, as it's pretty easy to tally, and reflects the brownlow voting system, but I reckon it'd be fine to try something different, as long as everyone knows what's going on.
Anyways well done Swanny, a well deserved winner.
Shame we can't organize some kind of prize, like a dinner for 2 or something.
The window is open my friend!

Nice idea, but impossible in practise. I do something like that now and then in the post-match thread, but it's simply too time-consuming for many people to bother... thus, we're going to have far less people contributing, and you could even conceivably have weeks where we're going off the votes of one poster, or even none.Kingswood wrote:what about rating each player that played a score from 10. might be tougher to do to go through each one but could be done in a spreadsheet easily.David wrote:lol, about 2 hours last night, after I'd compiled all the votes to R.11 a few weeks ago. Didn't take too long.
I gave the players a vote each, within reason. Where people went 3,2,2,1, I gave 3 votes to BOG, 2 votes each to the tied players, and then no further votes after that - after all, the point is to recognise the 3 best players of the match, and that's how I attempted to interpret each poster's votes.Pied Piper wrote:How did you deal with all those posters who gave their 1 vote to "everyone else", or to multiple players?

I don't have any problem with a top 5 though, it would be nice to see a few more players recognised for good performances.
As for a medal, I've thought in the past that a small engraved trophy (you can buy them from stores for next to nothing) presented by Joffa and/or a few others, as a note of appreciation from the entire board, wouldn't go astray. I'm sure the club wouldn't mind the fans getting an opportunity to show their gratitude in a small way like this.
