How tough do you need to be to hit somebody when they are not facing you?
Was it ever part of the "good ol days"? or just a cowards way to say " I am weak as piss and have no football ability"?

It wasn't a king hit at all.

The Port player saw it coming.

Port should be used to it as they dished it out for years. Just about every VFL follower will tell you that Port are known to be the dirtiest team ever.

100% correct Dale. My memories are mainly pre-AFL to be honest, but gee they were very dirty.

Personally speaking I enjoyed following Willy during the partnership, and take no joy in them losing! And I think the VFL should be marketing itself as a tougher code anyway, to differentiate from the AFL and increase crowd numbers and sponsorship.

Not many Footscray players in Williamstown's best. J. Cloke was the Seagull's BOG.
BEST: J. Cloke, C. Lockwood, C. Ward, P. Rose, K. McKenzie, A. Everitt

A guy named D. Fanning in The Borough's best.

Pies always have a hand in these games.

Watch The Pod take apart North Ballarat tomorrow, another Magpie connection, he absolutely smashed Casey in the Semi.

The Borough v Werribee grand final.

Now that someone has agreed with me, it looks like the 'historian' has gone missing. I bet he didn't think there would be anyone on this who would remember the old VFA days.

Not sure how the VFL could market itself as it hasn't had a major competition sponsor all year. Besides, the AFL wouldn't allow any marketing that would detract from what they have forced upon us.

The VFA used to be a tough, no place for the faint hearted type of competition, but now, in it's VFL guise, it's just a lesser version of the fairy floss crap that is the AFL.

Yeah a bit like the old VFA days. How I loved them!

But geez how pathetic were Willie? Thought the wind would get them home in the last. Momentum. They gave that to Port in the 3rd quarter and it was game over in the last. They were weak. A great smother from Jason Cloke, but that's about all he did.

Agree Dale, it's such a shame we have lost the old days when the vfl and vfa were both very entertaining and different styles, there was a feast of footy on the weekend. Progress hey...

I love watching the biff at any level. I've seen it a bit in my local league, still remember when one guy shoved another into the metal fence, could have broken his bloody neck, but didn't thankfully. Then they just get into a big punch up :P
In the Granny last week on of the opposition players got sent off for fighting.... his team ended up losing lol  :P

Williamstown were dirty as buggery. I remember the good old days when Teddy Whitten took Willy from first division to second division in one year.

That was their big year of thuggery.

Dale, yo are a sore loser. Go home and sook in the corner.

Willy couldn't match it today AGAINST A STAND ALONE TEAM and when the snipe as they always have done from Barry Round to max papley.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PORT MELBOURNE!!

STICK IT UP THE WESTERN SUBURBS SOOKS!

Thank god the Pies disaccociated themselves from this crap-shit club.
Is it wrong of me to say, you sound like the reasons I've grown to hate Port Melbourne in the VFL as much as I hate Carlton in the AFL.

There is something that is wrong about that club and their culture (and the fact that the little turd nahas plays for them, talk about advocating the king-hit).

And Picken, king hit? No he was looking straight at him. And despite his brain-fade, anyone wants to question his attack on the footy doesn't know squat about footy.

You can see why he is a dud at AFL level.
You are gonna have to correct me if i'm wrong but Liam Picken was never at an AFL club so i'm not sure how you know he's a dud at that level. And i'm confused, isn't your club full of players who were duds at AFL level?
