Hmmm, could be onto something... :P

Wonder what other (ex) players will nominate for the normal and PS Drafts?

Expect we'll take Cousins in the National, because we'll be picking up O'Keefe in the PSD. We have more cap space than the teams before us, so can outbid them.

Seriously though - we pick before the Saints in the PSD, so unless they can pay more than us, we can take Cousins before them. Brisbane is the concern, but they also have an earlier third round pick than us, so pick 46 won't help there.

All of this is mostly irrelevant anyway. If Cousins nominates a team, it's very unlikely anyone else would take the risk of picking him, his happiness and commitment to the club who takes him is vital.

You are right though, spots on our list are very tight. If we took 4 in the National and Cousins in the PSD, we'd need to delist another player or let Macaffer go. So your guess that we may take Cousins in the National makes some sense.

Another reason I could see for picking him up in the National, is that it's 17 days before the PSD. The club's thinking may be, the earlier we get him the better. There's also the possibility we've decided not to take him, or are uncertain enough not to leave a spot open.

Using a top 50 pick for a washed up druggy that has not played for a year at age 30 would be one of the most stupid moves in the History of the draft system.

I just fail to see how any good could come from drafting Cousins. If we do we gamble that he will come good and that we will get more than 2 years out of him.

IMO we should chase O'Keefe now, much better prospect. If we do keep an opening for the PSD and we can't land anyone worthwhile, and we have exhausted all opportunities then maybe pick up Cousins.

I fail to comprehend how some on this board see Cousins as some sort of Saviour?
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

I think we will only be adding kids now.

Surely that third rounder could have been spent on Harris. But what would I know.

When O'Bree rotates to the bench, we are going to get smashed in the extraction side of the game, week in, week out.
Get back on top.

Dont see why we would not want him. We will draft plenty of kids...some experience cannot hurt even just as an example.

I dont think he'll nominate for the ND, i think he'll go straight to the PSD
