NO

and to be honest, I eat the fruit occasionally too but only because it's free. If I had have known that I was, in effect, choosing between fruit and a Christmas party, I would have told them where to stick their fruit.

jjj - how much would they spend on a typical xmas party? if it's the equivalent of the debt of a small african nation i oculd understand but i would have thought even in these 'tough' times that a function of this nature would be a welcome distraction and morale booster.

we're still having a xmas party in spite of a large section of our workforce being retrenched.

And if they'd complied, that would have been the equivalent of the standard xmas party then and there. All solved in one hit.

Our xmas party is in one of the function rooms at the Aquarium.
But it's on a freakin Tuesday night!!!
And our company is too tight to let the casuals come, even tho most of them work just as much, if not more than the part timers!!

Well I get a department xmas party but who wants to see their dept more than they already do? The entire staff party was one to look forward to because we got to mingle with people we didn't normally get to, or people we'd never even met before.. Grr so annoyed. Plus I know that they hold a pretty good chrissy party. Last year they set up a Shanghai themed marquee at Birrarung Marr; free alcohol and food - sushi, noodles, oysters.. I didn't get past the oysters so I don't really know what else there was.. It was ace..

Our xmas party this year is at 1 Fitzroy Street. Nice place.

Seems a bit ludicrous though after the company announced today 1000 job cuts worldwide. 4 from my office. That sucks.

Christmas party? geez, I don't even know if one is going to happen, but if my staff expect me to fund a Christmas party it'll be BYO everything. I can probably afford to provide a packet of Sakata's and a cask of goon.

We have this young magpie that has been coming up to the front door for the last week or so. We have been giving him a chicken neck a day, the dog doesn't mind. Now we have moved out to the shed, the magpie comes and visits us in the back yard.

This morning John gave the magpie his usual chicken neck, and a dirty big old crow came along and pinched it off the magpie! Hate those crows, give me the magpie warble anyday over the crows screeching!

3 crows are hanging around, have been for years, and we can't seem to get rid of them. Has anyone got any ideas on how to scare them away, (besides saying it is the finals and you are playing Collingwood!)
