I'm puzzled.

My understanding has always been that the lower price offered for Cheer Squad membership was related to it being a working group.

As opposed to say, the Legends membership, which has no expectation attached to it, other than fervent support on the day.

Umm, that would be your social club membership
jmcp wrote:to be fair, why should the cs area be any cheaper than the legends area. last year i paid about $300 odd more and my seating was inferior.
I'm a social club member as well as a cheersquad member so it wasn't any cheaper for me - and there was no cocktail party!
jmcp wrote:to me, it looks like they have simply reclassified the cs membership as a legends one. membership will not cost $1300 as claimed by some.
Well I just rang the club and was told it does not include social club - that will be on top. I was told the reason it has gone up is because we are guarranteed seats to finals.
jmcp wrote:anyway, this is one way to cull the cs of the supposed dead wood and tea-sippers. surely this should please some of you.
It will also cull a lot of families, kids and people who attend every game and cheer week-in, week-out.

I go to every game - including interstate games and I'm no "tea-sipper" but I am considering becoming a "cheaper" Legends Member with the extra benefits.

I have rung the club and spoken to Bridget McGlade - who is our new Cheersquad Coordinator - to clarify exactly what is included in the $795 and she has no idea and will get back to me.

We all have to re-apply to join the Cheersquad by February 20. So we wont even know if we get a seat until after that, whereas all other reserved seat holders have to pay up by December 12.

We need to know what's happening before February - there will be no decent Legends seats left by then!

I, along with probably most other cheersquad members am heartily sick of not knowing if we are getting our seats until the season has already started - year after year now - and then they usually stuff them up!

This year will be even worse!

I'm just about over it.

that's pretty poor if bridget didn't know what the package comprised of. the fella i spoke with said that soc. club was included plus the added benefits.

i said to him that the website was unclear and there will be quite a few antsy people calling in.

It's up on the CFC website now:

http://membership.collingwoodfc.com.au/ ... Itemid=108

There are 2 options and the 2nd option DOES include Social Club membership and will also include the same benefits as Legends.

Bridget just got back to me, she was very helpful and I'm very happy with the new option.

Absolute joke that price rise, we are the people who go everyweek through thick and thin and that is how we are repaid? The club can get stuffed on this one.

Are they going to blame the world financial crisis? Give me a break.
Tradition? Pfft you call merging with Fitzroy and cheatin to 3 flags Tradition? Winning 4 flags in a row is history, which makes tradition!

Are you sure you spoke to someone in memberships or the call centre?
Cos if it is the call centre they'll tell you anything you want to hear.

Can it be that there are 2 options for the Cheer Squad?

1. 18 game Seasons ticket, Cheer Squad membership, Seat.

OR

2. as above, plus Social Club (Legends) membership.

Is that it, or am I still confused? Anyone who can tell me?

I've gone over the info again. I think it's right, as above ^.

That is, a choice of options ~

Option 1 ~ 18 game Seasons ticket, Cheer Squad membership, Seat:

(Adults $630, Conc $475, Jun $395)

Option 2 ~ exactly the same, PLUS Legends/Social Club membership:

Obviously, the Social Club option is more expensive.

(Adults $795, Conc $575, Jun $465)

I really can't recall what the pricing was last year. Is there much of a difference? Anyone know, for sure?
