sponsor concern we needed to follow a youth policy?Sponsors have emerged as a key consideration for any club interested in Cousins. Sponsor concern was understood to have been a factor in Collingwood's decision to quit the race for the former Eagles skipper.

Are we going to be sponsored by Huggies or Toy World in the near future?jmcp wrote:Podpicken wrote:imagine if we have simply put up a smokescreen.sponsor concern we needed to follow a youth policy?Sponsors have emerged as a key consideration for any club interested in Cousins. i had a feeling turtle that this was the case all along, cant be anything to do with his age or ability. The bloke could play for 4 more years, if u got that out of a PSD pick you would be more then happy. The Collingwood Turtle wrote:The mail I received was that we have folded on Cuz due to sponsor pressure.
Has nothing to do with age or injury.
Can't damage the sacred brand can we ..... prfft !!!

DISGRACED former West Coast captain Ben Cousins has been given the green light to resume his career after the AFL commission officially lifted his suspension.
Cousins was banned for 12 months last November after bringing the game into disrepute over a string of drugs-related offences.
The AFL could have opted to extend his ban, but the commission on Tuesday ruled that the 2005 Brownlow Medal winner could return to the competition in 2009 provided he meets strict drug-testing criteria.
Cousins will be subjected to urine testing up to three times per week and hair testing up to four times a year.

When they did the private investigation into the club the other year one of the blokes that was involved works for KPMG in our Perth office and he said that players were passing urine samples around so you can out 2 and 2 together.TheGreatDane wrote:fan4collingwood wrote:He was drug tested yesterday, (monday 1st Oct) and was clear.

<snip - no unsubstantiated and potentially libellous rumours thanks - the mods> but he's too much of a marketing tool for the AFL to have him sacked ..he provides revenue for the game for 10+ years
