Let's assume that Mick Malthouse is locked in as coach. (He and Eddie 'bumped into each other' last weekend at Albert Park Lake, I see)
Who is going to assist?
Gary Lyon has said no to a full time job, but has expressed interest in a part time role - lets snap him up. He gives Mick and the Weagles a big wrap in this morning's Paper (a suck up job to Mick I reckon) so let's offer him a role.
David Wheadon's name has been mentioned in relation to some of the vacancies around town (huh?), I reckon, let him go, unless Mick want's to retain him for some reason.
Mainwairing, Worsfold, Pyke and other ex-eagles have been mentioned, let Mick bring as many of them over as he likes.
He must be allowed to appoint his own team. Lethal has proved that's the way to go, this year at Brisbane.
Yes a new coach should bring a new broom. If our assistants were any good dont you think they would of at least got an interview for the numerous coaching jobs? Our team of 2000 must gain the respect of a new coaching panel.
Rumour around that another MM will be on the coaching panel next year - Mick McGuane. THe Ballarat Connection continues. Perhaps we will will get Msrs (who make M&M's in Ballarat to sponsor the club).
Further to the MM theme, Mal Micheal could be captian and Micheal Mansfied could be recruited from Geelong, Matthew Manfield promoted from the rookie list, Max Merritt and Marilyn Manson could perform at the family day.
Yeah Mcguane would be great back at Collingwood, I still believe Brereton would be great as an assistant coach as mentioned before on this board he could do wonders for our forward line and he(brereton) could serve an apprenticeship under Malthouse and eventually take over from Mick afetr 3-5 years.
