yea word is that its cancelled.

probably has to do with a few drunks last year who had a whole table full of grog

The last free BBQ as you say Tess turned into a disgraceful performance.

I am getting sick of all this "spin" business.

It is as simple as this.

People have had enough of the rubbish.

There will be a BBQ but in due course next year.

so would anyone like to shed some light on this - not interested in fingerpointing, just curious as to what happened? the bbq would not have been taken away without a reason.

i don't remember anything bad happening..
went, had a good time, went for a couple more drinks after it and then went home.

and didnt really hear about anything happening or whatever, so i really have no idea.

where was that quoted from?

Hi all, Justin reeves here.
The reason I am posting here is because this is the cheer squad thread, I think?
I have been looking through the threads tonight and am alittle amazed at some of the posts made by 2008 cheer squad members about only families being welcome in 2009.
That is ridiculous. What we have said is everyone is welcome. We want a cheer squad made up of passionate pie supporters from all walks of life. Families, Adults, Children, Singles, Single parents...We want people who are there to cheer, to help with banners, to want to be part of the cheer squad for the right reasons. I think you get the drift.
All current members have been encouraged to attend.
Like we put the best 22 out each week made up of all types of players. we want everyone to feel that they can apply and bring some great skills to our cheer squad and make it even better.

If anyone has any questions about it here, please leave them on this thread and I'll be more than happy to personally reply.

As I have been conducting the Competition for the Banner Slogans for a few years,.. just wondering wether this will still be a go next year?

^ and how do we get more kids involved in contributing to the slogan? i really like what hawthorn does in acknowledging the contributing child's name and age on the banner when they use their designs.
