thats why the club are suggesting you purchase another membership (such as legends) incase you dont get accepted.
andthen of course they will cancel the memberhip you chose if u do get accepted

no, they will allocate you a seat - hence part of the reason for making the legends membership across the board. if you do get accepted to the cs they will simply reallocate your seat.

your best bet is to tee up with others to ensure you are at least sitting with ppl you know in case you are not in the cs next year.

Hi,
Justin Reeves again here.
There is no doubtthat the cheer squad will be anywhere but their rightful home behind the goals at the Ponsford end.
We want the cheer sqyad there, louder and more passionate than ever before.

But you just never know....
That's confusing me Pete!

What's the point in the mass-sacking, if all we need do is re-apply if we can afford it?

The people I sit with (when I take my seat, that is) are considering their options. If they don't rejoin, nor will I. It has been fun, but at $800 you gotta consider your options.

Now let's see .... same pricing, same everything?

on the one hand, you have the Legends section, I think it's up on the 1st level, isn't it?
Sold as prime viewing, genuinely considered that way, too.
Under-cover.
Amongst fellow-Collingwood supporters.
Little if any, formal surveillance.
Are not expected to do anything in the way of Club work.

Then there's the Cheer Squad section ....
ground level, thus closer to the action, but never (till now), sold as prime viewing, and doubtful that it really is, given the inferior angle.
The Cheer Squad also fries in the heat, and gets sodden in the wet, and is exposed to the wind the rest of the time.
Not under-cover.
Can be surrounded by opposition supporters.
Picked-on by other Collingwood supporters, for blocking their view.
Treated like crap by Security staff.
Full-on surveillance, Security cameras trained on the Cheer Squad for the entire time.
And (some) work very hard.

That's some of it, anyway.

legends membership has seating across all levels of the ponsford stand. eg. my seat was m34, two bays across from the cs, i know others in the forward pocket on the ground level, some even on the third level.

just because some people have themselves a 'legends' membership doesn't mean they automatically qualify for or transform them into being a decent human being. better the devil you know with those in the cs. try sitting next to other so called 'passionate' supporters ... i often preferred the relative 'sanctuary' 'of the cs than being near other supporters.

I know exactly where you're coming from jock, some of the crappiest supporters have the Legends package!

I know hundreds, literally hundreds of them .... not unusual for more than a few of them to turn-up late, go home early, or not bother at all. Many are very negative in their 'supporting', bagging this & that player, and so on

One major difference for those of us in the Cheer Squad is that we are now required to re-apply to be a member, judged, screened ~ whereas Legends merely renew, automatic, not vetted, in any way.

HUGE difference. The Club's position is most curious & upsetting.

Like it or not, the Cheersquad are the FACE of Collingwood. Maybe this is why they have changed the process.

It's a rare event if they use the Legends membership areas to showcase the Collingwood Supporters.
