As a friend, I mean. She's a really decent, fantastic person for whom I have absolutely no amorous or sexual feelings for any more. We only went out for three weeks, after all (and she broke up with me).

I don't know, but for me, I've found it difficult to maintain friendships. As a result, I value the few I have quite highly.

When my best friend and I went our seperate ways earlier this year, it felt more like a 'break-up' than my actual break-ups did. It still does.

What has me happy is I have completed 6 weeks work in a bar at the Mt Lyell made some friends, got some great feedback on the worker I am, and will be starting in either the Commonwealth Bank, or working for the West Coast Council and earning a Cert 3 in Business Administration.

Sure some other plans have fallen through, but I am making the best of it all...also my parents are looking to move back to Hobart.

And when I finish my traineeship, I could be ready for bigger and better things elsewhere.

Also found out that Alastair Lynch's dad is a Collingwood supporter

Good bloke is Graeme.

I guess it has a lot to do with the individual, the way the relationship ended, etc.

First girlfriend as a case in point - we had a tearful (but not angry) break-up, and we're still 'friends'. However the main reason I broke up with her (still very young in every sense of the word) means I will probably never be good friends with her, and more than likely we will lose contact at some point.

As for Lizzy, she broke up with me for very different reasons, none of which really stop us from being friends. Time and a little distance apart has allowed a true friendship to start.

Then again, there are so many variables I haven't experienced. Haven't had an angry break-up, haven't gone out with someone I was already friends with, haven't cheated, etc. I think everyone likes to think that they can stay friends afterwards, but in reality it's probably rare (and by 'friend' I mean friend, not someone you occasionally say hi to on facebook or make small talk with).

Last gasp of summer. Mowed the lawn, did the washing then hung up the hammock and lay there reading a book and having a few beers for 2 hours.

A friend rescued me from a tragically dull weekend by dragging me to an art film tonight. The 'film' itself was pretty odd (Bjork turning into a whale anyone?), but I was happy to be able to go out and have some company.

Spending the day with 2 of my children and their families on holidays at the Gold Coast, going to Movieworld, then back to the Caravan Park for a few hours in the pool with 3 of the grandkiddies. Then sharing 4 kilos of fresh prawns (brought off the boat that caught them the night before)with Mr J daughter number 2 and her hubby, with some sauv blanc and champers.

And we ate all the prawns!!

Haha I am the ex-girlfriend from hell! You never want to dump me, as my stupid ex's have now discovered

I had a special day with my 5 year old nephew today. I always promise him that we'll do something, just me and him, so today we had 'Lisey and Zack Day'. We caught the train to Chapel St. and we had lunch at TGI Friday's. He was very excited to be sitting up on the bar stools haha!

We went and got photos from one of those street booths, and I bought him a Scooby Doo Playstation 2 game, which he played all night!

He gave me the biggest hugs and kisses before bed, and said thank you a million times

Lol, he asked me why the train didn't stop at East Richmond. I told him that I didn't know why, but that it never stops there. He sat there in deep thought for a moment, and then said "I know why!! The train doesn't stop there because the people there speak Spanish. And nobody likes it when people speak Spanish!!" HAHAHA! I have no idea where that came from, but that's a child's logic for you haha!

You won't get them any fresher unless you catch them yourself.

That was how we always purchased our seafood when we lived in Darwin. What we couldn't get from the boats, we would then go over to see our mate, who owned a seafood processing plant, and got the rest from there.
