As for the rain, magpie24, well the good thing about this global warming thing is that, you do not have to go to the tropics, the tropics come to you.
Not that I want to make London Dave even more homesick (then why am I writing this?) but the rain we are having is not bad. No cold wind to speak of, high humidity making it seem a little warmer.
But then again, it could be just El Nino. You should listen to all the crap going on about water storage tanks in Melbourne. Private citizens will all be forced to have water tanks. Why? So that in another eighty years (if any of the tanks are still standing and full) we will have enough water to wet our gardens. Why do they not let enough good clean water be available to fulfill our needs? I think the provision of (enough) drinkable water to be a sign of civilisation, are we civilised or not? Oh I keep forgetting the value of our dollar.
