Heading to Perth for 23 May

Post by FunkyPieMaster »

Hi all

I'm flying to Perth for a mate's wedding on Saturday 23 May when the Pies take on the Weagles. I am thinking of attending the game after the ceremony.

I would like to know the following:
- How difficult will it be to get tickets to the match
- Which section of the ground do you get tickets to
- Are you guys having any functions at all on the weekend
- What suggestions do you have for any budget close to town accomodation?

I would love to catch up with some of you during, before (except during the wedding) and after the match.

I still reckon Rocca got that goal

We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

MAXY'S BITCH wrote:Im unsure about the accomadation.... sorry cant help you there!!

As for the tickets, as soon as you can buy them, I would get them, most people over here get them with their memberships these days otherwise they have to wait like the rest and get them thru ticketmaster.....
As for the sections its normally 140,141,142 or 341, 342 I think. Cant remember off the top of my head!!!

Everyone normall meets up at the Vic Hotel in Subiaco before the game and after if you can get in........

As for a function, cant help you there either......If noone else responds to you here, try going to www.westernmagpies.com and asking in the shout out box!!

Hopefully that helps you for now anyway!!!

Good luck!!
Cheers. Many thanks for the info :-)

Hi guys,

sorry for the delay in posting, i very rarely check Nicks as we put up most of our info on the website.

The info that Maxy provided is pretty much correct, the tickets for the game this year are going to be very limited as the interstate memberships have sold out already (as the AFL and Eagles only provoded Collingwood with a small amount of game tickets). The sections that Collingwood mainly sit in is 141 and 341, but there are normally small groups of Pies supporters in sections 140 and 142 also.

We do always meet up a the Vic Hotel on Hay Street in Subiaco before the game (normall a few hours before the game) and turn that place into a Collingwood fortress (its usually an Eagles Pub..... always fun to watch their fans walk in.. take a look around and then walk out again...lol)

As for functions, unfortunately we wont be having any pre match functions (other than meeting up at the Hotel), its very difficult to be able to get players available for functions as the team normally fly in the day before the game and then fly out straight after the game), so we tend to just meet up at the hotel prior.

Accomodation is a bit of a tricky one..... but if you are looking to stay close to the ground, then anywhere on either Murray street, Hay Street or St Georges Terrace would probably suit you, these places would be a short bus ride (or a healthy walk) from the oval.

I hope that helps a bit, like I said apologies for not replying sooner, if there's any other info you need don't hesitate to drop me a line, all my details are on the website.

Look forward to having a couple of beers with ya in May

doubt the training will be closed, they usually just go out for an hour or so and just do ball skills, then sign autographs and everything.

ill be there and also at the vic hotel before the game.

Hi all,

Pies fly it an 12.30pm on Friday and they train at Subiaco on Friday from 4.30 onwards (although it will more than likely be closer to 5pm, as the Thommo's Team footy clinic is on until 5pm).

On Saturday everyone will be meeting up at the Vic Hotel for some pre game beverages, so we encourage everyone to get down there and tunr that place into a black and white fortress......

Lets hope th lads can pull off a famous victory, our backs are against the walls.... we are injured, we are sore BUT we are Collingwood......

GO PIES !!!!!!!
