Same 3 for me. Cloke was good too but in the end he did not kick any goals.

3. Nick Maxwell - inspirational. Never drops his head.
2. Steele Sidebottom - impressive first final. Would have embarrassed a lot of senior teammates with his endeavour.
1. Heath Shaw - another solid game in defence.
Toovey tried hard in his first final, Rocca was better than expected and Davis did some nice things. Most of the others weren't good enough.

BTW. This recent basketball tactic of running back to defense once the opposition gains control of the ball might work against the lesser sides. But as was proven against the Bulldogs and now the Saints, there is nothing better than pressure on the ball carrier. It's an old one but it hasn't stood the test of time because it's wrong!!!!
The Hawks last year were ferocious in their pressure on the ball carrier. They dropped off with it this year hence the slide.
Saints have been the best at it this year.
Allowing the oppositions midfield to continually run the ball up to forward of centre is a recipe for disaster.
