I was actually thinking Goldsack as they're desperate for a defender, but Cloke could be worth a lot to them too.Didaksgoal wrote:Fev can take Rocca's spot. We all know how important Rocca was to our side, Fev is just what we need. He'd free up Anthony and the smaller forwards, and we'd finally have a target up forward.
On the ugly side, what would we need to give up? Simple....Cloke and pick 1, maybe pick 2 as well.

I was all for getting Cousins and I would get any drunk or tool if it helped us get a premiership. But his body language was terrible at times in the second half of the season and I reckon you won't get anywhere unless you have total commitment and he didn't show it!
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

If we give Dawes and Medhust for fev, I'll %$#* Mick's *^%$ several times, and trust me he won't like it.

yes for me, but undecided really. Happy for MM and crew to make the call. They know best on this one.
Will feel dirty cheering him on, but hey, thats pro-footy these days.
This guy is a gun player. A genuine match winner. A player we don't really have that can break a game open in a Q, A superstar.
I don't think his off-field stuff is all that bad. Yes, can't hold his drink. But he doesn't seem to have punch ons. Unlike other players, with far greater wraps/reputations. Seems pretty harmless IMO, but is just sillyon the grog.
Spitting the dummy on the field is another concern. chasing and the other 1% is a concern.
But I get the feeling this trade will shake him up enough, for him to grow up. He'll always be a tool, but may take life a little more seriously.
Coleman medilists don't fall out of trees.
We threw over $1M at J.brown plus god knows what was needed to achieve the trade. Fev will come far cheaper trade wise.
So i say get him. Dawes is unproven. Although he looks good, Maybe worth including the trade for Fev to give him the oportunity.
Imagine Cloke JA, Medders, Leon/Didak/Dick and Fev in the F50. Their gunna need a real good set of backs on them.

Goldy is solid trade bait I reckon (for any team, not just for Fev). I'd hate to lose him. Maybe the Blues could have Trav down back? With Waite coming back into the side, he could take the backmans roll, while Trav stays forward, or vice versa.Wokko wrote:I was actually thinking Goldsack as they're desperate for a defender, but Cloke could be worth a lot to them too.Didaksgoal wrote:Fev can take Rocca's spot. Same Old Same Old.
It's about trading to improve your list. And we just haven't done it well enough over many years.
Geelong without Ottens wouldn't have won a flag. Saints did it well with Gardiner, King and others. Hawks with Dew............etc
What's wrong with going after players like Lake, Ball, Fevola when they fulfill a current need?

08...So, Cousins? Midfielder. Current supply? Got plenty and drafted Sidebottom & Beams with 1st 2 picks in one of the strongest drafts of late.
09...Fevola? Goalkicking full forward. Current supply? Nil. With one of the weakest drafts in years, maybe pick 14 and 3rd round plus a defender like Shannon Cox might appeal. Fevola certainly doesn't appeal to Carlton anymore. No going back I reckon.
There is a hole in our forward line that needs to be filled. Experienced forward to fill X Large sized no. 23 methinks. Mick spoke recently of the magnitude of Anthony Rocca's retirement. Different players, and both no Rhodes Scholars either. But potency in attack is what Fevola is almost guaranteeing.
I wouldn't want anyone else but Nick Maxwell facing such a challenge. 10 times the leader Judd will ever be. And a strong group in support too. Far stronger leadership culture at Collingwood than at Carlton. And they'll need it. But they will eat it up.
I hated Graeme Teasdale with a passion when he was with Sth Mel (especially with that Shakespearian beard and coiffed hair and velvet brown suit he wore when he won the Brownlow!!), but I reckon within 30 secs of his first game with the Pies I roared"Teaser!!" with delight.
Bring it on Blues. You know you're on a hiding to no-where.
