Dave, if Carlton had 2 offers on the table
1.Pick 30 and the club willing to pay all of Fevola's salary, or
2.First round pick and fringe player with Carlton having to pay 50% of Fevola's wages
which do you think Carlton will take?
Trust us those that say Carlton want nothing more to do with him and if a club is willing to take the risk and pay all or a large part of his contract you might be surprised how cheap he will go for.
My gut feeling is Sydney are bluffing and will use the first round pick they get for Jolly to get Fev.

This could well be our 'official' position on Fevola
The Captain has NO business commenting on trading, end of story. I cannot recall any other AFL captain doing it, its not his call. to make.He may have a personal view, but keep it to himself.

You don't think the club would have sanctioned his making these comments first? I have no doubt that's happened in this case. Maxwell is not stupid and wouldn't be making comments off the cuff if these were likely to be going against the Board's directions in this matter. I suspect your real beef with Maxwell is that what he is saying (and by extension the club) runs counter to your, and the other Fevolemming's desire for a fantastical wish fulfillment, where getting Fevola makes everything be alright...

Fancy me, RR and Pietillidie getting into the same bed over this one.
I hope you like things up close and friendly, Jack, 'cause besides you, Rocketronnie, and Pietillidie all in the same bed, you also have me, Neil, Favourites, and Magpie Greg. Hell, Dave the Man is standing there with his socks off thinking about joining us. A more diverse group of Nicksters you would go a long way to find.
I'm definitely in the don't touch Fev with a ten foot pole club.

Agreed. I bet he would not have copped any flack had he said we should get him.

yep agree 100% should have kept it to him self he is in a lose -lose situation whether he wants him or not..
Boohoo Carlton don't want to deal with us - shows they were never serious about getting rid of him in the first place. Unless he goes to Sydney - whch would be best personally for him, but I'm sure Alex wants to stay in melbs
The rumour floating about is Carlton want a super deal done for Fevola.
They Knocked back the pies first offer-Pick 14 and a player (chris dawes).
They told collingwood they want a first round pick (top ten) and jack anthony and leon davis.
Then the rumour goes that maybe a trade of davis or medhurst to west coast for there first round pick, but carlton expressed interest in one of the 2.But wc desired leon not medhurst, but carlton have said to only want leon.
so collingwood talked nathan brown to west coast.
The deal will not go through as brown was offered but west coast said no to brown for first round pick.
Carlton keep upping the price(players or picks)
And its not going to happen, its ashame some got excited.
Carlton i think were never going to trade him.
I still hope we do land Brendon fevola.
But 1 would think, a jolly and ball pickup,is more on the cards.
Interesting burgoyne still lingers.
