"We were told that their instructions from their board are that unless there is a first-round draft choice involved they can't deal with either Collingwood or Essendon," Collingwood football operations manager Geoff Walsh said.
"And they won't be getting a first-round from us. I don't think he's going anywhere. Well, certainly not to Collingwood.
"We've spoken to Brendan and his management and they have indicated that he wants to play at Collingwood but that may not be all that relevant any more."

i was listening to sen in the arvo on the walkman, did anyone else hear swan being mentioned in the fev trade?
swan to blues and fev to pies?
but how will that work out because i believe swan is still in america. at 1st they said he was going to make a annoncement, but then news came through that he was over in america.

Why would we trade our Colman Medalist and 3rd best mid for Fev?Fire Up wrote:i was listening to sen in the arvo on the walkman, did anyone else hear swan being mentioned in the fev trade?

I agree, but I don't believe pick 14 for him would be screwing us over. Anyways, I'm over it, it's all becoming a bit of a yawnfavourites 2008 wrote:**** Carlton at all costs Frankiboy. That is there attitude towards us, I would expect nothing different in return.

There is a reason no one wants Fev.... because Carltons price is over the top.
If they wanted to get rid of him they would give him up unders of what he is worth.... but what do they do? They say any trade with Collingwood or Essendon must be over what he is worth....
**** Carlton. Fev nominated Collingwood knowing he was stuffing with them.

Remember Akermanis went for pick 28 or something like that (2nd rounder). That was a steal!melliot wrote:If we picked up Fev for Pick 30 that would be the steal of the trade period since............ever IMO.
Can't see it happening really. It all depends on how bad the blues want to get rid of him. Would people be happy with Pick 30 and Goldsack/Wellingham?
If we get Jolly and Ball, I'd be wrapped with that and is the priority Fev can stay with that mob. Love to have him, but not at a great expense.
We seem to be the only club interested.
Lovett to Saints for their first pick means Saints can't trade for him, if Blues want 1st rounder. And Saints can't get him under cap, so blues would have to pay big portion.
He was the same age, Brownlow medalist, triple premiership winner etc.
Aker wanted Dogs, Lions wanted him out. Lions and Dogs were able to deal like adults though. Carlton......well, say no more.

Nah, a reasonable trade would be pick 14, especially if we took on his whole contract.mattys123 wrote:And we have a winner after 81 pages.swoop42 wrote:Only way I see us landing Fev now is that Leon chooses to go to S.A his partners home state and Port are prepared to part with pick 9 that they will receive in the Burgoyne trade.
This is the ONLY way a Collingwood-Fevola deal will be struck now.
No way I'd want totrade Leon for Fev. If we got pick 9 we should keep it or offer put it up for a better deal. Would be a Freo-like move to trade it for a 29 year old clown.
Reckon the Blues will keep him. Not enough interest. Possible the Swans will make an offer after they get pick 14 from us. Very surprised they initially ruled out getting him.
Well done boys!
