this isn't the first time, but recently when I've tried to log onto LIve Chat, I can't log on.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? something I should turn off?

No problems at our end that I'm aware of Jacqui.

You're not really forthcoming with the symptoms of your problem and as my crystal ball is down at the moment it's a bit hard to diagnose. There has been a recent major update to Java, if you haven't already installed that I suggest that you do so - it might fix any configuration problems you have in your machine.

Or it could be a firewall problem (unlikely) - find out by disabling your firewall and trying again.

thanks Mike, it just kept telling me that I couldn't connect to the server, so I even downloaded mIRC and still had the same issue with not being able to connect to the server.

I'll try the download and hopefully that'll work.

Java has had an update and this has occured since then.
Not a bother, and I assume I could put Chat in the "trusted" file but why bother?

well I haven't changed the firewall settings and the past few times I've wanted to connect I haven't been able to. I used to be able to connect using either the mIRC or the Nick's chat.

I'll keep working on it for this coming weekend's game.

Jacqui, do you have a firewall in your modem/router?

I had a problem accessing Google images simple because the modem firewall was turned on. I turned that off, and it is all good now.
