St. Jason....Wild times ahead at Moorabin

Post by Damien »

I've heard it all now.....The Spider Everitt rumour is growing stronger, but the word is now, that he will be traded for Paul Williams and Jason Wild. YES, Jason Wild. Robert Harvey's spot in the Saints starting line up now looks extremely shaky.

Ok Nuv here it is -
YES Everitt is still under contract. I think till the end of next year.

Like Foxy i would hate to see Paul Williams go BUT if it was to get someone as great as Everitt then it would deinately be worth it.

While Willy is great player, he is injury prone and it is much easier to replace a midfielder than it is to recruit a key big man. As we've found over the last 10 years.

I also suspect they'll want that number 3 pick as part of the deal too. But if was Willy and Wild then is a goer.

but willo is extra valuable; he has the amazing knack of kicking a team-lifting goal and getting the fans back into the game. everitt on the other hand has serious clouds about his character and could easily fall into a heap if he loses confidence. which, i suppose, isn't very likely under malthouse but you never know. he's coming from st.kilda, and st.kilda is one stuffed up club from what i hear. (loewe has taken a couple of swings at watson this year - latest rumour)

willo has always been one of my favourite players, but for everitt - he would be a good trade. he is injury prone and on the way to thirty. MM is sure to be looking for a ready made player or two in the draft BUT i am sure every other club will want more than Wildy and willo...they will want our (early) draft. Should we give them away again? Last year we gave away the number 3 pick for Licuria and orchard - two average midfielders. We cannot keep making these mistakes!

ok people, the everitt trade is never going to happen. watson said today he has to honour his contract and that he's a required player, and that he was untouchable. sorry folks. as for the licuria/orchard trade being a 'mistake', did you see a kid called ryan fitzgerald play anyway games for sydney this year? no, primarily because he doesn't have much talent and his shoulder popped out twice this year.
