Is that right? Maybe not as good a match as I thought?

Leon wasn't great, but not too far from it.

O'Bree was poor, no question. Wouldn't have played if Medhurst was fit.

Wood was terrible, and was a bad selection choice - should have gone with L.Brown.
yes An inkling probably i am a little harsh on Brown!
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Those saying Leon is finished? Sorry, way off. He's a little out of touch at the moment, but still definitely dangerous. Not as if we have a surfeit of skilled, quick, players. Wasn't much space up forward tonight with the way we moved it in.
Absolutely right - Leon is down on confidence as his attempt to pass the ball from inside 50 in the 2nd QTR showed. But I have to admitt there is no zip, zest or spark in him at present - just hope the flame is still flickering, and not burnt out.

Then drop him to the VFL and let him find it

Oh, and we need to learn to stop tackling players waists only! Pin their arms for god's sake....so many geelong players just stood up in our tackles and easily handpassed.

 Good to see the usual Eddieland suspects out to defend one of their little favourites. :P

And our dear ol boundary line game style reared its head again, i thought we had got over that crap, notice the cats went up the guts all the way. The lid is firmly down now, the press will give us merry hell,-we deserve it-and its back to one week at a time. Just so long as we learn from this debacle, and act on it strongly. Next week now beckons, we must hit back hard.
Ben Reid a huge positive - especially in the 1st half.

I'm done holding on to hope for Leon. If he cannot show something in a game like this then he isn't worth the paper at the bottom of my dunny bowl. I'm over this guy, just f*ck off already.

I think the team selections are getting better....still a few tweaks to go...i think we'll play better with Presti and Reid as the back two bigs (no disrespect to Brown, but it's just one of those team balance things). Similarly, O'bree comes out in favour of Medhurst and Wood for Fraser and I think we can take our game to another level.

After Dick's had a few VFL games throw him in for Davis (who gets a rest until later in the season) and throw in Barham now and again to rest some players and we can still keep building momentum towards september.

Just realistic Jack. I didn't expect a win. Thought the Cats would be about 4 goals better than us tonight... so was a little disappointed with the finish, but certainly not surprised.

Our team is still improving. Quite simply, we're not as good as the Cats. Maybe we will be by the end of the year, who knows. We do have more improvement in us than they do. I didn't rate us as a massive flag chance this year, because the Cats are too good, and my view hasn't changed. Next year could be the year. Still a chance this season, but not an absolute red hot chance.

Is Leon part of our best 22? Definitely. Unless Dick comes on really well, and Medhurst is in form.

Is O'Bree? No. Ball's taken his spot.

Is Wood? No. Should not play second ruck, especially against a non ruckman.

Is N.Brown good enough? Certainly. And played very well tonight. Presti is still our best stopper though, and may be preferred.

Keep your chin up Jack. It's only one game. The season's not over yet.
Well done boys!

I thought Reid showed us something positive tonight. A big tick from me.

Beams is sensational.

The main problem tonight was that under pressure we fell back into the old shite game plan.

Pick any three.
I agree with ALL those changes Tannin.
Just a minor update with your OUT list.
Davis (should read) OUT from Rd 10 to Rd 22.

Obviously a disappointment, but like the Saints game, we had our chances but couldn't finish. We dominated play in the first ten minutes of the last quarter, with the game played almost exclusively in our forward line, but couldn't kick a goal.

We can definitely improve by September. For now we must start by dropping McCaffer and Leon. The Caff's shocking misses from gettable shots in the last quarter broke our spirit. It is unforgivable to have a league player who can't kick for goal. I've seen him do this on numerous occasions, where he shits himself at important moments. Not good enough. As for Leon, he is simply not working hard enough.

The other liability tonight was clearly Woods. I'm not sure if Josh's knee is good enough for him to keep playing AFL, but if not then perhaps bring in Leroy instead. Wood is still a year or two off being a decent player imo.

As for the coaching staff, we need to work out how to overcome the flooding of our forward line - which is what beat us in this game and the one against the Saints.
