I would argue it was Clokes handball that missed its target.mattys123 wrote:Luke Ball's turnover inside 50 was ultimately the game.
If he finds a target, we have a shot to go in front, he kicks it straight to Staker, who then transfers the ball, Fev Goals, game over.
Nathan Brown should have played, we had one key defender tonight.

PeterWH...the first half was us cleaning up after them...then us on a fast break...then a bomb into the forward 50....then a spoil and Brisbane run it out of defence....Repeat.
Occassionally Brisbane would make something out of a lazy defensive effort by us....Goal to them.
Second half was finger in the dike stuff.
Presti and Jack playing in Brisbane first game back? Jack hadn't played for 2 weeks..Presti for 6. Bad bad decision that one.
I watched this game seeing us as having the better players, more run, a better outfit, better form...Everything pointed to a Collingwood win.
Watching this game was like someone with a major hatred of Collingwood dusting off an old video-tape of a Magpies game and saying to you "Hey...wanna watch something good?" It was like a movie script that had been read to me 1000 times before.
This loss hurts.
P.S. Don't blame him, he's just the projectionist!

They make the appointments and we collapse every year for no apparent reason. I am not blaming players here. I think we have a complete club culture failure.
Time to comment.
Piss off Hiss. If you can still see the keyboard then your not pissed enough.

then **** off and follow someone else then. you're not handcuffed to the club.Millane42 wrote:Look at the Stats:

Pathetic! Carlton and West Coast also have better win-loss ratios against us.
We are a joke of a team. I sometimes wonder why I spend so much time and money, they are just such a club of pretenders, they always get talked up but never deliver. Disappointing and gutless.

Ball Kicking is Coming a Real Worry for me
Of course were pretenders,as if it would be any different with the same gray haired,stubborn,myopic coach in charge.
We're still as far away from a flag now as we were when he took over.
[*]N Brown should of played of Ben Reid
[*]Defense who Leak to many Goals
[*]Midfield getting Flogged
[*]Not Heavy Tag Black or Power

We just can't win at the gabba and we always struggle against the Lions. Mentally we are stuffed against them. 3 wins there in 20 years.
Pathetic effort Pies, absolutely gutless. Games like that show the reason why Collingwood will never win a premiership in our lifetime.

Without wanting to be too hasty, without wanting to rush into judgement & without wanting to vent my spleen or blame anyone, I blame:
1. Attitude;
2. Selection Committee in picking Dawes & Anthony in the one team - both very poor & not good enough (Anthony ought to have been paid the mark in the last quarter - but that was beside the point);
3. Too many players waiting for the opposition to get the ball first in contests & this includes experienced players;
4. Allowing Black & Power to run almost uninhibited ie no tags - a role previously done well by Barham;
5. A shocker by Luke Ball IMO - poor decision making & his poor foot skills were shown up tonight & cost us not the game per se but turnovers, goals & momentum;
6. Everyone waiting for someone else to do something;
7. Well done Daisy our best & Harry most of the time;
8. Beaten in the middle two weeks running that determined the contest; &,
9. As Lou would say, playing like "Millionaires".
And MM outcoached tonight - we have been stagnant, no run & carry & playing timidly - I don't know what the tackle count was but we were simply not desperate enough tomight. The desire seemed to be absent compared to an enthusiastic Brisbane. I know the players tried but were poor overall.
Need to pick ourselves up to beat Footscray next week.
As I've noted previously we really missed both Leon's & Medders forward line pressure to have a cumbersome forward line tonight. Jack & Dawes are only good if our midfield is up otherwise we cannot depend on them at all. Yes one can say that about any forward line but when they don't contribute they are diabolical. - no poise & Dawes consistently turns like the Queen Mary
Having said that go pies for next week.
