100% agree eddiesmith. I couldn't believe it when they said "Maxwell has moved to Fevola". I actually didn't think that Reid was doing a bad job on Brown, but when he was moved to Full Forward it should have simply been a swap of Presti and Reid. Silly, silly move by Mick.eddiesmith wrote:Shocking effort, I said pre match if we dont thrash them then we are not contenders, losing is unbelievable and this side has a long way to go
The move that cost Collingwood the match was putting Maxwell on Fevola, Fev barely touched it before then and ended up winning them the game

Fact is we missed Leigh Brown, if he was playing they could have thrown him backcharmer wrote:100% agree eddiesmith. I couldn't believe it when they said "Maxwell has moved to Fevola". But I thought Mick had given up on trusting Maxwell on a key forward

im not blaming umpires either, we should have been so far in front that they should not have and an iota of difference. But better umpiring decisions would have had us win despite the poor marking in 50 and poor goal kicking

well i reckon you have that all spot on - well written - obviously forgoned or foregowed, or just didnt have!!- the drink unlike the rest of us - well done!!watt price tully wrote:Without wanting to be too hasty, without wanting to rush into judgement & without wanting to vent my spleen or blame anyone, I blame:
1. Attitude;
2. Selection Committee in picking Dawes & Anthony in the one team - both very poor & not good enough (Anthony ought to have been paid the mark in the last quarter - but that was beside the point);
3. Too many players waiting for the opposition to get the ball first in contests & this includes experienced players;
4. Allowing Black & Power to run almost uninhibited ie no tags - a role previously done well by Barham;
5. A shocker by Luke Ball IMO - poor decision making & his poor foot skills were shown up tonight & cost us not the game per se but turnovers, goals & momentum;
6. Everyone waiting for someone else to do something;
7. Well done Daisy our best & Harry most of the time;
8. Beaten in the middle two weeks running that determined the contest; &,
9. As Lou would say, playing like "Millionaires".
And MM outcoached tonight - we have been stagnant, no run & carry & playing timidly - I don't know what the tackle count was but we were simply not desperate enough tomight. The desire seemed to be absent compared to an enthusiastic Brisbane. I know the players tried but were poor overall.
Need to pick ourselves up to beat Footscray next week.
As I've noted previously we really missed both Leon's & Medders forward line pressure to have a cumbersome forward line tonight. Jack & Dawes are only good if our midfield is up otherwise we cannot depend on them at all. Yes one can say that about any forward line but when they don't contribute they are diabolical. - no poise & Dawes consistently turns like the Queen Mary
Having said that go pies for next week.
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Sad but true. Have we bought a lemon?thebaldfacts wrote: Jolly got slaughtered tonight in the rucks.

Should never have been picked with Cloke and Dawes.
Daisy especially - brilliant effort. But Swan's kicking was the worst I have ever seen from him.thebaldfacts wrote: Thomas, Pendlebury and Swan could at least hold their heads up.

why for the last 2 weeks do we keep bombing the ball forward
for the las 2 weeks we have just bombed the ball forward and lost both games,wood is so soft and does not chase at all and our midfield is not accountable at all and play too loose of there opponents which kills us.leigh brown should be playing instead of wood at least he has a crack.
oh and im not blaming umps but sheeze we got some dud ones tonight anthony mark like dawes non mark last week and the holding the ball decisions that were not paid were disgracefulmwas one after another

enough with the infighting everyone - god thats the last thing we need.
While we've played very poorly for 2 weeks we will probably be 3rd after tomorrows matches.
How do we turn this around? We may be pretenders right now but we do have the ability - just have to find a way to win again.
Mick's stubbornness to not change to man-on-man or just something else has to change. If this doesn't change we are stuffed.
I reckon the dogs aren't going anywhere near as well as some think. Perfect chance to turn it all around.
Very very deflated feeling right now.

I love that some idiots on here are telling me a) to die and b) to f**k off.
Well back at ya idiots. I'll let you bathe in Magpie Mediocrity.
I'm sick of the current regime promising something they cannot deliver, remember Eddie saying we expect to win a premiership in the next 3 years. Well 2009 is gone, 2010 is heading south quickly, and the only positive I will take is it's another nail in MM's coffin. Although wait on, Eddie is still there, so MM is safe until end of 2011. What is Eddie still doing there, No premierships since 1999. It's time for change and for Buckley to step in.
It's time to delist the deadwood of O'Bree, Rusling, Cook, Wood, Corrie, Johnson.
It's time to play youth Blair, Goldsack, N.Brown, Barham, Dick. Hell even L. Brown is better than the chump Wood.
And it's a bit late to waste my money on these wasters as I've already bought tickets for the swans game and bought a weekend in melbourne to watch them play carlton. So I'm lamenting the curse of all magpie fans. The team and the club are an embarrassment. Tonight shows the real collingwood for what it is. Prentenders with no heart, sometimes titillating sometimes attractive but ultimately disappointing.
I'll let you wallow in the mediocrity as some of you seem to accept it.

Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~
Yeah Maxy was a worry tonight on a forward who is injured.eddiesmith wrote:Shocking effort, I said pre match if we dont thrash them then we are not contenders, losing is unbelievable and this side has a long way to go

I guess we had no choice as Reid was getting pantsed.
It's not losing that bothers me so much.
It's the fact we played the old uncontested footy the last couple of weeks.
We got to 7-1 by putting massive pressure on the ball carrier & we have done a complete backflip in recent times. Hence our tackle count has dropped & so has the opposition turn overs. We are also lost at sea when the opposing team has a spare man back. Our forwards have to play 2 on 1 with no space. I don't know what the answer to that problem is but neither do our coaching staff.
