OUT: Anthony, O'Bree, Wood
IN: Tarks, Leroy, Dick/Bahram/Rounds
I know Dick is probably not ready but I wonder if we can get him match fit in the seniors..............Nah having thought about it bring Dick in after the mid season break. Bring in Barham or Rounds.

Out:
JA - I'm a HUUUUUGE fan but tonight he seemed to be playing with concrete boots on his feet. Apart from a good pack mark in the first half he really didn't seem to impose himself. He's still a massive part of the Pies future but, as tonight proved, the Pies can't play JA, Dawes and Cloke in the forward line at the same time. One needs to go and I think it'll be Jack.
OB - Not for poor form but purely based on the fact the Pies can't afford to have two averaged paced extractors against the Dogs, their just to fast.
In:
Tarks/Medders/Davis - Any one of those three to replace JA. They all provide some goal kicking accuracy, defensive pressure and creativity that was lacking in the forward 50 tonight, and will be needed next week.
Barham - What does he need to do to get a game! His form warrants selection and I believe his leg speed combined with his naturally high octane defensive game will be a real asset against the Doggies. Plus with the improvement of his kicking coupled with his leg speed he'll provide a medium through which the Pies can bust through the Doggies midfield and deliver accurately to the forwards, and maybe kick a goal or two.
There you go nothing to drastic. A couple of changes, one due to form the other due to match up criteria.

Re: Changes for Bulldogs
Dave, I reckon your error was posting too close to the end of the game. Wait a day or 2! You will see it differently with emotion removed.Dave The Man wrote:Well they Might Try More and No Worse then some Selections that MM can makeSkyPie wrote:there is no logic in your ins and outs, it is mindless!Dave The Man wrote:In: Rounds Barham J Thomas?
Out: JA Ben Johnson O'Bree
you are bringing in 3 youngsters with no experience against a side like the Dogs, and taking out 2 veterans who had a good crack tonight.
and as for JA out, i would rather drop Dawes. The big kid has no heart or at least plays like it!!
we need a bit of mongrel in the side too, at least Leeroy provided some heart so i would drop Dawes for Leeroy.

What he needs to do to get a game is stop kicking the ball. From what I am reading his kicking is getting worse, not better (I emphasise only from what I am reading).OEP wrote:Out:

.
Is Barham an option for a tagger, dedicated in this role? Fast, reads the play.

What gets me is before the game people claiming we would flog them.Tannin wrote:I'll hold off on making firm recommendations until I've seen the game. But a few comments on obvious errors are appropriate nevertheless.
1: Calling for wholesale changes is just stupid. By all means make some changes. But 6 or 8 outs? Get with the program, people.
2: Calling for the inclusion of players who just aren't ready is dumb. dumb, dumb. Now I am the biggest Brad Dick fan in the known universe. Years ago I went out on a limb and called him "the future of the Collingwood Football Club" and nothing I have seen since then has made me change my mind. But there is no way I am going to call for Dickie's inclusion just yet - he is two games back from a very serious injury and if you think that makes him ready to star in senior AFL football this week, you want your brain licence revoked 'cause you ain't fit to own one.
3: Reid was picked to play on Brown as a learning experience. Had to be. He was clearly outmatched body-on-body, and someone thought it would be good for him to take on a giant of the game. Me, I'd have played it safe and had one or other of the Browns in the team, but presumably MM thought it was worth risking a loss in order to bring the player on. Either that or he thought the talented beanpole could actually match it with the gorilla, and I don't reckon anyone in his position would be that unrealistic.
4: Barham has been hanging around as an emergency for far too long. Either play the kid while he is hot or send him off to the Gold Coast.
5: Lockyer has to be a better option than O'Bree at this stage. We have enough extractors in the side, we don't have enough deliverers or enough goalkickers. Lockyer is both.
6: Tyson Goldsack has been missing in action for weeks now. I don't know if he played in the twos today, but if so he is only just back. It will be weeks before he is match fit. Stop ya dreamin' people.
When have we ever flogged Brisbane at the Gabba?
Add the Brown / Fevola combination and it always had trouble written all over it, especially coming off the Geelong game.
Lazza, out gut is on the money...
And in terms of the loss, it is an exciting challenge to come back from this, and will make a win over the Dogs all the better.
It could be worse, we could support Port Adelaide. Feel better now don't ya's. hahahahaha.

Funny how Reid is getting bagged.
Last week Dawes got thumped... Good learning experience against the best in the league was the response to anyone who dare comment on his game
Reid gets beat by Brown the best CHF in the game... drop him, send him back are the comments
And MM has his favs lol... check some of the posters here
Our forwards last night in the second half were terrible and that seems to be the trend over the last 2 games.... look there for your problems.
They are not presenting opportunities for players coming down the ground.. no wonder they have no choice but to kick it high into the forward line or like BJ keep getting caught trying to run to far.
Just watch the replay and look how players know just where Jbrown is going and then when he is one on one they kick over head and he runs back
Backs follow forwards not the other way around... it is they who need to be presenting themselves and making space etc not the mids or our backmen doing it for them.

brisbane had lost five on the trot and shown very little form. brown had been struggling. we'd won 6 of the last 7 games and in that time defeated most of the teams handsomely. pregame, there was little reason to be pessimisitic about the result.Big T wrote:What gets me is before the game people claiming we would flog them.

Sorry about the capitals, just want the message out there, all the supports, with there board meeting decisions, fact is,doggies are a running side, and we need players like medhurst, davis, dick all roaming the foward line, but they are all weeks away.
Vfl listed players arnt the answer,so blight, barham, blair, wont play,
Players like reid, maccaffer.obree, dont do anything wrong.

I made a comment that it has been the small forwards mids and even backmen that have been the main goalkicking contributors all year as we have or had the greatest number of goalkickers this saeson.WITTY 35 DAICOS MAGIC wrote:WE WILL NOT BEAT DOGGIES UNLESS WE HAVE GOT SOME SMALL FOWARDS BACK,OR SOME RUN.

Time for some KPF forwards to be contributing rather than looking for scapegoats for failures in players like Leon BJ Obree the Caff and co.

If Medhurst is still out and judging by the nature of his injury could be out for any length of time, I'd be tempted to pick Scott Reed who is basically playing the Medhurst role in the VFL with good success this season.
Reed is a good mark for his size, good pace and can apply the defensive pressure Medhurst does and Anthony doesn't.

Dogs game worries me next week
All the negative publicity towards Akermanis and the Dogs losing to us in Rd1, I think we are going to have to at least bring our A game to next sunday.
Akermanis, is just as likely going to star to shut up his distracters, and the Dogs will have something to prove anyway.
MM better make the right changes to the team this week!

MM can make all the changes in the world... its up to the players to start to kick a winning score...steviewonder36 wrote:All the negative publicity towards Akermanis and the Dogs losing to us in Rd1, I think we are going to have to at least bring our A game to next sunday.

for what its worth players that would come back and make a difference apart from Medhurst have either no form yet (Dick for example) or they are players that have been bagged on a continual basis... Leroy, Fraser Lockeyer to name 3.
Now that we have the team that all here seem to think is capable or our best, it is MM who is getting bagged this week.
Our forwards were smashed and by a not so good defense.
Backmen follow and tag forwards and its pretty hard for a coach to do anything move wise if a foward/s not producing, other than bench them .. so its up to them to make the leads and to take contested marks under pressure when it really counts.. or make it easier for the smalls around them.
