Dave Stupid statement, based on one player being ommited from our side.. dont worry about the inclusions of Medhurst, Davis and Fraser.. Dawes is out that really crushes our hopes

Leighroy has banged the door down in the VFL hardly playing favorites..

shit if u were coach the 22 would include Blight, J Thomas, Blair, Rounds and bloody Macnamara... there not ready yet.. but there your favorites are they not?
Exactly. Funny for the poster on this site who plays favourites more than any, bar maybe Swoop , calling Mick out on picking favourites.

I mean seriously Dave - you're still hoping Wood plays? He's been a terrible liability over the last few weeks.

Dawes has been ordinary for three weeks, and poor last week. L.Brown's VFL form has been good. I agree, it's a little strange to drop both Anthony and Dawes; one had to come out, both being dropped is a surprise. But, a thing to note about these two is - they've given almost nothing against quality opposition - now, L.Brown may not be the most talented player around, he does however give a very strong contest, and has had good games against good teams.

Anyway guys, hold onto your toys for now - I'd be surprised if Medhurst was fit to play. Strong chance Dawes could be a late inclusion.

Whether he does or not, we are definitely fielding a stronger team than last week, and one I'd be confident of doing the job.
Well done boys!

Norman Gunston used to say: "Never let a moron do a cretin's job"

I love the team as picked. The return from injury is a concern but good team otherwise IMO. Leroy was excellent in the round one match lets hope he does it again he has played really well for many weeks now in the VFL he has earned his spot.

Reid on Grant who I reckon is a gun is a good match up. We need to tag Cooney.

Go pies this week

Sensational team, really boosts the confidence seeing a quality lineup like that and shows that Mick has had enough, no more playing kids for the experience, lets pick the best side

If we win this week, screw Bucks, give Mick a contract extension

1.Dawes gathered 19 possessions, 5 score assists, 6 marks and 5 tackles against Fremantle 3 weeks ago. Kicked 2 goals last week, tell me again how many Cloke kicked and more importantly how many L.Brown has produced this season?

2.Chris's best games this season have come against Fremantle(2nd) and Carlton who have defeated both Geelong and St.kilda.

3.Name these mysterious L.Brown "good games against good teams".

^^Off the top of my head: Bulldogs first game this year. 2 good games against Geelong last year.

Wasn't overly impressed with Dawes against Freo, and don't rate them all that highly. Carlton aren't a top team, and Dawes was playing on a kid. When I say "top" opposition, I mean against: Scarlett, Lake, and the StKilda defense. At our best, we have little trouble beating other teams, so looking to improve against them is irrelevant.

Why? If you want a Player to get Better he needs to play Consistently against Better Players.

You make some good points there.I think the Leigh Brown fans are suffering from collective amnesia about his form prior to getting dropped. Before he was dropped he was averaging about six disposals per game, half of which were clangers.Dawes' worst games were never that bad.

So, we should play all our players who aren't yet good enough, and hope they get better?

Even players who have time to develop further, need to perform at an acceptable level to continue being picked. Personally, I reckon Dawes was doing well enough to hold his place - though his form had dropped off. The selectors have disagreed for this week. A player on the edge of our best 22 has been dropped, it's hardly a massive surprise.

Still a lot of experimentation going on folks; don't read too much into each in and out. A fair way to go yet before the formula is clear.

My tip is Medders to come out and Dawes will hold his place. I also thought he did enough last week, just. Was impressed by both of his goals. But the selectors may think differently.

Great. I find it amusing how the Chris Dawes bandwagon also seems to be overflowing with professed opponents of the current coach. Fighting a war on two fronts!

Me, I think the kid can play a bit, and he's lucky to have a good coach. (Duck and cover!)
