i'd develop a heart condition very soon if the Pies keep doing that.

but now that i can finally breathe easy, i'm happy that we won. a win is a win, and despite the obvious concern, we are now 2nd on the ladder after a tough month of footy.

We should win against the Demons, and then the mid-season break couldnt come in at a better time for the boys to kick-off the latter part of the season.

Great to see Leon and Harry back, Dids is fantastic, Daisy wonderful like he has been all year, and Leroy doing some good things.

I thought Swan was very quiet (despite his 3x disposals)? honestly i didnt really notice him much. Pendles did some go things early, but would like a more consistent 4-qtr effort from him.

and what's up with Heater? it has been mistake galore for him lately. =@

lastly, that moron Ray Chamberlein should never umpire a game (at least not in our game) again.

Who said "fade-outs"? Rubbish. We aren't having face-outs, we are having fair-dinkum instant bloody blackouts. Six goals on the trot, all unanswered, all in a few minutes as we allowed this second-rate team to run all over us and push our faces into the dirt.

Richmond would be embarrassed by that performance.

It is time for some heads to roll. The midfield need to learn how to shut it down (Sydney style); the back 6 need to rediscover how to play tight and give up their lairising. One of the half-back line should get a holiday in the seconds to remind the others that it ain't all fun and party tricks, their job is a serious matter of shutting the opposition out. Heater or Harry, I'd suggest Harry. We will see if a kid will take defence more seriously.

The message should be clear: we will not tolerate players who let their faces get rubbed in the dirt by second-rate sides like Footscray and Brisbane.

fact is the dogs were down to 21 for most of the game and still ran over the top of us, we need to adress these mental lapses.

At the moment, he's somewhere lower than a dog turd. That little wannabe ADD afflicted tosspot gifted them 2 goals.

Seriously, he's Stephen Milne without the football ability, otherwise he's be playing instead up umpiring. Look at me, look at me.

I'd be happy to use the little prick as a pinata.

my heart is still pounding. But we were not lucky. were far enough ahead to withstand the challenge. But did miss the chance to bury them. Need to do something about wasting opportunities in our 50

I'm hoping the team is in hard training to give them the stamina they will need later in the season. Hopefully will taper later

Am very worried about Geelong, Saints, Blues and Hawks all being in the 8 at the moment.

All of these teams that have given us real problems over the last few years.

Swan got plenty of ball or day, but disposal was off until third quarter. The he took off and was awesome, if not best on ground from then on

A win shouldnt feel like this, My heart still hurts, Thank god for beer.

Still its a WIN against a quality team.

We left the corridor open in the last qtr, Nothing angers me more than a team running up there with no pressure.

Alot of the boys stood up when it was needed which put a smile on my face. Id go into players etc but beers has taken over so I shall continue lurking and listenin to the song over n over.

Go PIES! play yourselvs back into form!

Really pissed me off that last qtr

Why do they do that to us supporters, disgusted.
cos they clearly enjoy pissing off people like you.

when the game was there to be won they stood up brilliantly. the fact the dogs had all the play in the last quarter was more a reflection on the bulldogs than anything else. they were woeful for the best part of three quarters.

Win against a contender. Take it. Next week will be harder to get across the line and will take a professional mindset not to be ambushed.
Get back on top.

OK, take a Deeeeeeeeeeeeep breath.

Presti is the lock down. The rest are rebounding backs. We may need to address that balance at some point but, when it works it's beautiful and it's worked a lot more than it's failed this year.

Would Maxwell be in this side if he wasn't captain?

Post by jack_spain »

This is a serious question. I know he made a few good spoils, but it is fair to say he missed at least three spoils that resulted in Doggies'goals.

I don't think he gives enough and lacks the skill to beat players one-on-one. Presti had Hall's measure and then when he had to take Lake, who was moved to the forward line, Maxwell took Hall. Bingo - Hall gets three quickies.

Off field Maxwell handles himself brilliantly. Is he the Mike Gatting of footy?

Any thoughts?
