Glad we are taking the opportunity to rest a couple of players with niggles and use our depth.

I would be inclined to use both O'Bree and Tarks as they should be desperate to impress and hold there spot for the next game and show they are part of teh best 22 for finals.

O'Bree obvious replacement for Ball.

Jaxon has been knocking on the door for weeks now and probably is in the queue first followed by Tarks.

Thought N.Brown would be selected and Presti rested...sorry out with a "calf".

Wouldn't have thought Dawes could get a gig with L.Brown and Fraser in the side. I wonder if they'll play youth over the experiance?

Don't you mean at 12:40pm Monday? The only change on Saturday is the extended interchange is changed to 4 interchange and 3 emergencies. This can mean nothing, as the emergencies can come into the side upto 12:40pm (90minutes before game time) without any ramifications.

However, I suppose the VFL side will play Saturday(?), and Pies typically maintain at least 1 emergency over for the AFL game. In which case we'll know the final 23 at this stage.

OB and Barham if it's like for like. Would love to see Jaxson play.

You'd reckon MM would be keen to give Tarks a crack, too, but you would have to worry about losing Ball at the stoppages and not bringing in OB.

I agree pietillidie, OB would be a good swap with Ball. Despite what most say on this board, I thinkO'Bree is still a very good in and under player. We need at least one in the team every week.

Jonno is a big loss - he has been one of our best this year- love the way he's come back.

Spoke the other day with an Emergency Department Consultant Medical Officer who is a keen Dees supporter - he reckons Sylvia will not play. Will see how his advice pans out.

I agree. We need pace but we will lose a lot of drive off the half back with Johnno out / being rested. Barham ought to tag Davey as was noted earlier.

This is where Buckley's off-field problems hurt. About a month ago he was ready to come into the side whenever needed, possibly still is, though has only had one game back. But, with his off-field issues, he may have to wait some time for a call up. Would have been an excellent replacement for Johnson.

Our best option is probably to keep Reid in the side and use him more as a rebounding, running player than a defender. Maybe playing Goldsack in a defensive role.

Surprised and disappointed that N.Brown didn't come in for Presti. Is in top form, and there's no real matchup for Presti, with Miller often playing more up the ground than deep.

Hoping that Barham finally gets his chance. Mick did say he was very close. I'd go with Barham and O'Bree to come in. With O'Bree the in and under replacement for Ball, and Barham to possible play a role on Davey.

Edit: see McCarthy's still a week away. That's now a 6 week hamstring injury. Time's against him now to make our best 22 by year's end. Another season heavily curtailed by injury. Unfortunate, as I reckon he's a pretty big upgrade on Macaffer - but, the Caff has his chance now, could really cement his place if he starts to do more offensively.
Well done boys!
