Half way point of season, agree, but there is a long way to go before September.
Our backline are all playing well below their normal level self and forward line just not functioning. That can change very quickly.
But nothing will make up for lacking a power forward.
34-27.
4-10!!!

Jamar 14 hitouts 11 possessions.
Jolly and Fraser combined 11 hitouts 8 possessions.
As I point out that terrible and typical stat, Dunne kicks his second to increase Heath Shaws woes.
1 point ball game.

Jamar sets up a goal.
Demons by 5 points.
Pies in all sorts, haven't had a sniff this quarter.
Inside 50s 28-17 in our favour and we trail.

Brad Dick goals. Just. Phew.
Dick 2 goals Pies 40-39.
Still look lost in the forward line.
Dick is a genuine crumber who we have missed badly, exposing flaws in some of our older guys IMO.

Shaw's been pretty hopeless for a month now.
Is anybody playing well?

Half time.
5-10-40
6-3-39
Melbourne 'boys' have worked out the Pies 'men'. Fast transfer of play, make use of every opportunity. Pies forward line the usual liquorice all sorts. We laid 1 tackle inside our F50 for that quarter.
Now we have a very interesting second half. The Demons have nothing to lose. We have everything to lose. Love it. Time to stand up.

If we finish the game (after midway through the 3rd quarter) today like we have in the past 3 games (Geelong, Lions, Bulldogs) then we are gonesky.
We had sizeable leads in all of those games and went down. Now we find ourselves with a 1 point half time lead. Against a team with no pressure on them.
Exactly what we need, it's a real top 4 pressure half now.

Worst 1/4 of football I've seen all year
Feel like a stiff drink...
We just got nutted at the clearances...
