Bushrangers

Post by Donny »

The Vic Bushies are going well this season, being ladder leaders in the Pura Cup and, with a good win last night against the Redbacks, second in the ING.

Matthew Elliott and Jason Arnberger are leading the way with other good performances from Hodge, Moss, White, Warne, Inness and Lewis. The former NSW player, Graeme Rummans, has also started the season well.

They seem to be working well with new coach, David Hookes.

Yes m8. The info is included below and for anyone else interesred in Graeme Rummans, here is his profile:

A player of enormous potential, Graeme Rummans is a young left handed batsman, tidy left arm spin bowler, and brilliant fieldsman.

Much in the mould of Michael Bevan in his outlook, appearance and style at the crease, Rummans has a glittering junior record behind him which included representation in New South Wales under-17 and under-19 teams at national carnivals; appointments to the post of captain of the state's colts side in 1996-97 and 1997-98; and selection as an inductee of the Australian Cricket Academy in 1998.

He was also a member of the Academy side which visited Zimbabwe in 1998-99, and it was on that tour that he registered his maiden century at first-class level. Though he was a consistently productive run scorer over a number of seasons for the St George club in Sydney grade competition, Rummans did not quite cement a position in the New South Wales middle order at senior level, however, and duly accepted an offer to switch to Victoria ahead of the 2002-03 season.

His career also suffered a setback in Sydney in early 2002 when it was revealed that he had tested positive to the banned masking agent probenecid. At a hearing before an Anti-Doping Committee, Rummans received a one-month ban from all cricket and was hit with a fine of $A2000.

They're playing much better then I expected them to this season, after last season. Won't have as much time as usual to go and support them though - have 7 and a half weeks off, and I'm away for 5!
