I am so sick of having to listen to Tim Lane and his biased comments against Collingwood, Robert Walls isnt much better either. They get paid to commentate the game not support who they want to win, and obviously beeing Carlton supporters its always against the pies.

Maybe it's because I have to read every post that the constant 'Sybil Fawlty' type of harping on this facet of our game irks me.
I bit back (in reply to you) in the Game On thread as it wasn't particularly woeful in tonight's game. At that stage, it was 10.13 with 4 rushed behinds. Also, it wasn't as if we were being challenged by a Swans scoreline of 10.3. I think they were 6.7 at the time.
In this thread, I replied to Fire Up. Hardly persisting when I was responding to another poster.
Fair enough Donny. Didn't mean to get under your skin.
I stand by my take on this argument; that the boys should have put the Swans away much earlier than they did and had many opportunities to do so. A 25-point margin was flattering to the Swans, and I think it's reasonable for Pies supporters to be concerned considering that kicking for goal cost us badly this season against St Kilda, Geelong and to a lesser extent Brisbane and Melbourne.
That said, I also take on board arguments about the poor delivery inside our forward 50. Chris Dawes makes us look a lot more convincing. Now if only our small forwards can find their touch again.

I'll get more into the game tomorrow....but the point I'd like to make is:
Jolly had his best game for the club tonight. No coincidence that he played 80% or more of his game in the ruck and spent way more time on field, resting up forward as an alternative to ruck-work.
He strikes me as the sort of player that enjoys a heavy workload and gets better as a game goes on.
Until either of Josh or Wood find their top gears...I'm very happy to leave this current setup. Leigh Brown was very influential and versatile tonight. Played all over the field and was a tough matchup wherever he went.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.
I agree with Dave that we seemed a hell of a lot more balanced with Jolly rucking one-out most of the match with Brown and Dawes providing occasional support. It's a setup that allows us to play to Brown's great strength, his versatility.

But it was the performance of the cult figure Prestigiacomo that highlighted Collingwood's night. The much-loved ''Presti'' was all over Goodes from the start, cutting his legs from beneath him in the marking contests, getting a fist to the ball each time. Goodes eventually went into the middle to escape, but when he went back to the key post, Prestigiacomo met him there. The dual Brownlow medallist finished with 13 disposals and went goalless. Prestigiacomo had just nine disposals but here was a case for a key defender grabbing Brownlow votes.
