We are all expecting(hoping) that Collingwood can flick the switch next week and get back to playing our best football but form can be a fickle thing.

The last two weeks have produced performances that resemble the bad Collingwood of recent seasons that should have us somewhat concerned.

We seem to have gone back to old habits the last two weeks of taking boundary line football to the extreme and our willingness to play on quickly and take the game on has diminished.

The slow delivery within the f50 remains a big concern as well as it does our forwards absolutely no favours.

I disagree Swoop. We have always played the boundary line football. To me its a way "around" the zone where you don't have opponents coming to spoil from all directions.

The only concern I have was our inability to play on and move the ball quickly early in the game!

We were up in nearly all KPi's and were only slightly down in rebound 50 & tackles. The biggest kpi concern is our goal accuracy % this was well down and cost us the game.

Our form is not bad its just our goal kicking accuracy is what we have to address!

The only dissapointment with todays game is we didn't win. But i'll tell ya this our club will go on and win the flag. Collingwood is tough those last five minutes when the ball was on our forward line was just something to watch, It was the hit out we needed to have. I dont subscibe to the theory you must take winning form into the finals. Collingwood have done enough over the last eleven weeks to justify premiership favourtism. I'll tell ya something else Collingwood is a country mile better than anyone else in the competition. No Didak Johnson L.Brown Presti..Gee we're looking good.

I just heard the Dawks have to play interstate next week can anyone confirm this ?

The Dawk fans ( Those red headed pimpled cretins ) were talking premierships after the game and were also quick to shout ' Colliewobbles ' got what they deserved an away final aint karma a bitch!!

I went today and the three most important things were:

-Confirmation Didak has a bruised upper bicep and is 100% ready for next week
-We got no injuries or reports
-Our kicking for goal is still shit and is the one thing that can stop us winning the flag.

The rest at our game was unimportant. In fact what happened at two other games had more bearing. The Bulldogs were thrashed in contested ball by Essendon who had seven first year players. The after game interviews with Eade and the Bulldogs players sounded like a funeral and their second/third best line breaker after Cooney injured his knee (Griffin). Also Lake is so hampered by his hip he has lost all speed and agility and then there's Eade who is still clinging to the hope that Brad Johnson and his sore ankle will save them next week. Also the Saints are playing the same style of footy they played against us a few weeks back. ie. no risk taking, overuse of handball, slow ball movement and a player called Fisher did his hammy. Imagine having 470 possessions to score 5.5? Yep that's Saints Footy.

Besides our terrible goal kicking its all good news. In next week: Didak, Johnson, L. Brown and hopefully Presti and I'm sure we will give those Bulldogs a hell of a time!

I was actually rapt in today's game. Our B team almost (should have) snatched the game against the fourth best team in the league; the Hawks having everything to play. For us, it was a game we didn't need.

The plusses for me were:

Firstly, Leon stood up on the big stage against a top team and kicked two great goals and applied defensive forward pressure all day. Leon, you have secured a game against the Dogs.

Secondly, Reid was able to get the cobwebs out of his system and will be much better for the run next week.

Thirdly, Pendles is in career best form, which bodes well for his form in September.

Fourthly, there can be no doubt now that Bilbo Blair is in our best 22. The little terrier is a cross between Tony Shaw and Tony Francis, only more skillful.

Finally, next week, with our A team back in action, including Dids, (hopefully) Presti, Leroy and Johnno, we will absolutely pulverise the Dogs.

Sadly we have seen the last of Josh in black and white, and McCarthy, Nathan Brown and Goldsack are likely exclusions, if our four stars return next week. Looking forward to having our A team back next week.

I was at the game and I forgot to record it so i haven't seen any replays, someone was trying to tell me that Sharrod might be in trouble for an errant elbow, and also Toovey had a little run in with Osborne that left him doubled over behind play.

Can anyone shed any light on those?

So we lost to a side that had a lot to play for while we were playing a dead rubber, our price with sportsbet blew out a touch and Geelong's came in.. if anything this just relieves a bit of pressure and really it makes no difference to the task in front of us from here.

We have players to come back in and others that played today that will obviously go out, we have 3-4 of those while the Hawks will get their champion back and be strengthened a little too. The big difference though is that from next week we again have everything to play for and watch for that fantastic level of pressure and intensity to come back into our boys next Saturday.

The men running the chook lotto AKA MRP will probably have a look at both incidents as Quarter Brain alerted to them in the commentary.

Notice he didn't say anything when Mitchell stuck his leg out in an attempted trip or the player who applied the punch to the nose of jolly didn't get a mention. Selective commentary at its finest!
