My concerns exactly Swoop. I don't believe we were sandbagging yesterday. The Hawks beat us fair and square because we were sloppy with our disposal (and goal kicking). That first half effort was the worst of the year (just behind the effort the week before).swoop42 wrote:We are all expecting(hoping) that Collingwood can flick the switch next week and get back to playing our best football but form can be a fickle thing.
The last two weeks have produced performances that resemble the bad Collingwood of recent seasons that should have us somewhat concerned.
We seem to have gone back to old habits the last two weeks of taking boundary line football to the extreme and our willingness to play on quickly and take the game on has diminished.
The slow delivery within the f50 remains a big concern as well as it does our forwards absolutely no favours.
The form line is not good. That's why so many of us are nervous. If we think we can just turn up next Saturday night and win the first final, we might be in real trouble. Sometimes teams find something special when they are missing their stars.
Let's at least hope and pray Didak and Presti are back, along with Leigh Brown.

I am a bit sick of all the Beams bashing!!! Get off his back!! If the missed goal had been at the 10 minute mark of the second quarter would everyone still be going on about it!! Some one said he is a bad kick for goal!! He has kicked better than a goal a game and from a mid that is better than acceptable in my book!!! Go Beamer and rub their noses in it next Saturday!!!

We lost due to bad kicking. It's a worry at times. In saying that we had nothing to play for and the intensity was low from our players in certain stages of the game. That was Hawthorns Grand Final in my view.
It's a loss but not a massive one. Form line looks pretty good with the Saints going down. Need to win easily this week and we need the Cats and Saints to belt the crap out of each other.

He is a bad kick for goal (25-28). Worse than Cloke (33-35) this season.Sore loser wrote:I am a bit sick of all the Beams bashing!!! Get off his back!! Also, has played mostly forward, not midfield.
Not saying he deserves a bashing, but nothing wrong with pointing out he's a bad kick for goal. No one seems to have a problem with Cloke being constantly derided for the same fault.
Well done boys!

i actually thought we might lose yesterday, just because we had nothing to play for. there'll plenty to play for next saturday. we hugged the boundary line to death when we destroyed st kilda last month. boundary hugging is bad when you lose (and our coach is a silly sausage who doesn't know anything about footy) but when you win, it's really good (and your coach is awesome).swoop42 wrote:We are all expecting(hoping) that Collingwood can flick the switch next week and get back to playing our best football but form can be a fickle thing.

if only you were coaching collingwood and not mick malthouse.jack_spain wrote:^ It's not so much the boundary hugging that's the problem, but the lack of speed and disposal efficiency.
I do agree that coming around the boundary is affecting our goal kicking accuracy though.
If the corridor is free use it.
sigh....

Agree, IMO this gives us our best 22 bar Dicky.AN_Inkling wrote:^^Made another mistake . No need for Leon or Blair to make way. Missed out on N.Brown.
For me, the changes are very clear and simple:
out: Fraser, McCarthy, N.Brown, Goldsack
in: L.Brown, Didak, Presti, Johnson
Surprisingly, no tough decisions. All clear and self evident.
Presti is a concern. he may not come up. We'll have to watch training.

What about the free though? If that was not hign contact i do not know what is. The commentators on channel 10 looked at the replay and said nothing about a free.1eyedpie wrote:[So whatsinaname if you splatter someones nose all over his face with your fist there is NOTHING in it eh?
If Stratton doesn't get cited I will then believe the MRP is corrupt!
Accident or not, stratton hit him high and the very least was that it should have been a free kick at the top of the goal square.
MRP will look at it, but wont take it further. The Geish should look at it as to why there was no free paid.
