The one on his back was his coach! (Whatever folks wanna pretend.)

I think it speaks to envy. “if I had what you had I would treat it seriously and make the most of it”. Who cares! It’s the end of the day everyone leads to live their own life and we all will reap what we sow. If Ginni (or Jordy - let’s face it he has faced the same criticism) want to piss their talent away then that’s their call and at some point the club will form a view on that.
Point is, none of us know what it is like to be anyone other than who we are.
I reckon that's an easier sell in an individual sport. In a team sport, you're affecting others. Even if "the club will form a view", that's just a reaction that cuts losses. The club and all the dude's teammates and supporters are affected.
It's different for e.g. tennis. Dunno anyone feels so strongly about e.g. Kyrgios "squandering his potential". The only others he's harming are his coaching team and family.

I did like someone’s suggestion in another thread of McCreery playing more midfield and with Sidey getting on, it’s definitely not the time to be getting rid of talented 20 year olds.

These guys are generally very good with the mail and I’m being told there is no reason to believe Richmond are into Ginnivan. Richmond accepts they have virtually no current trading currency and that Yze ( like most new coaches ) wants to look at his list this year before making any decisions on players. That means there will be little trading out at Richmond, which also further reduces any ability to trade on. Yze wants to keep Soldo because Nankervis is close to the end, so it would need to be a very good offer for him to be released.
The most interesting comment of the day was one of Flys good mates saying that Fly indicated Collingwood had some interest in Wines but he’s not sure if that’s still on after the Schultz play.
Thanks for this info.
Riley B reported that no club has approached Ginnivan so far. And Ginnivan's side won't want to approach them (said Riley). Both Riley and Twomey (his AFL podcast partner) said if they were Hawthorn they def would approach Ginnivan. Just to check it out.
They said Soldo and Port still have some interest in uniting but as you say Richmond holds the key there. As long as Soldo's not coming to the Pies, I'm happy! Maybe that's unfair to Soldo. But after the horror of the Grundy years, I only want a ruckman who can do something with his hit outs. (Like folks who only want players who can kick well.) Maybe Soldo's better than that. But being stuck behind Nankervis is a bad sign. Nankervis is like Grundy, i.e. his hit outs are worthless.

Rumour reported that Ginni is possibly going to Hawthorn for a future first round pick. Need confirmation.

1st round?!
Unless the Hawks zoom up the ladder, that's way overs! Can't be true!

I call horseshit, rumours are like arseholes, etc. Geez, the kid is 20, bloody 20, we would be insane to lose him now, remember JDG at his age ??. He stays, end of story, oh and **** Mitchell.

I never heard Fly mentioning anything about playing a poor final and a possible trade, which has been touted on here and elsewhere

Tom Browne tweeted that Ginni had requested a trade to Carlton.
Am I being punked?

He would go to Carlton as their only current listed premiership player, imagine the ego clashes.

First Rd pick is the minimum for a required and contracted player like Ginni with proven big game performances.

If he wants out then send him to Gold Coast. See how he likes that.

Surprised Ginnivan didn't tweet it just to get up the jumpers of all his haters here and elsewhere on the Collingwood Internet. I reckon I would. Maybe get on TikTok about it, wearing my premiership medal: "I need a fanbase that values me more than Goody values Reg" or something.
Maybe then suggest staying at Mooney Valley 'til we make a DFA out of him so he can go for free.
