Can someone tell me how the inside 50s are measured??
We had 53 to 44 i50s but like the last 3 or 4 games the opposition when in possession carry the ball into our fwd 50 on a number of times when they couldn't find a way out of their defence.
So is i50s measured by only our team getting it in there or is it when it crosses the 50 line regardless who takes it over?

Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Don't you think that's exactly what Eddie was thinking when he inked the deal? He doesn't want Mick going elsewhere, either!AN_Inkling wrote:Agreed. Carlton would be a top 4 side this season, if they had Mick as coach. He's quite possibly the best development coach in the comp. Able to instill a culture and team ethic as well as any. And it's not just this year. Our current list has been building to this point for some time, and our previous list under Mick did almost as well with less overall talent.Big T wrote:You are dancing around the issue Jack.jack_spain wrote:Craig is still doing alright. But I agree Ratten and Voss are shite.Big T wrote:I still vividly recall Jack Spain rabbiting on about how Ratten and Voss were top gun coaches at the start of the year (after his usual love fest for Neil Craig) while ours was a total dud.The_Staunton wrote:Personal favourite from Talking Carlton...
As Bristle would say - OH BOY! WOWEE! - imagine what we could do with a list as good as Carltons!
Mick has developed this year and it must be two things: (1) the Buckley factor - just having him around gives real impetus to us, and (2) our list has matured and developed faster than most of us thought.
That brings me to the real stupidity of that Scum-lover's quote. HTF can they possibly say we have an average list and they have a good one? Nothing could be further from the truth. Judd is virtually finished, and their kids haven't come on.
Suck it up Scum-lovers. You may be coming but we just **** all over you.
Bottom line. Carlton have a lot of top draft picks. And those "kids" would be a well drilled machine under Malthouse cemented in the top 4, rather than an up and down rabble targetting 9th place.
And you know it.
Mick is a super coach, and any, particularly young and developing team, would jump at the chance of signing him. I hope he does stay on as "director of coaching", because I'd hate for us to have to play against a team coached by him. Especially when we'd have a rookie at the helm.

Agreed.lanstro wrote:We played extremely well. Also looks like Leon's now injury free - a couple of full-stretch marks overhead tell me that he's ready to fire now.
Looking back, Leon wouldn't stretch both hand for a mark and tried too many single handed grabs, so was clearly carrying an injury.
With Dick being lost for the season, Leon being fit and in form is important

I was disappointed with the last quarter, but any day that we beat the filthy scum is a good day. If you'd told me at the start of the season we'd beat carlscum twice, by an average of 50 points, I'd take that in a flash.
Swan is down, Swan kicks the goal! And everything here will be a Magpie celebration!

Wel said mateblackandwhite4life wrote:What an awesome performance that was yesterday. Just fantastic watching this side at the moment.
Their constant pressure, teamwork and confidence in each other is a beautiful thing to watch.
When Blair was picked about 5 or so weeks ago I was rapped just to see him get his chance. Didn't think he'd still be in the side with the finals coming up, but he is a beauty. As well as being a hard nut he uses it so well and makes good decisions. In saying that though, I kind of feel that a fit and firing Medhurst could be playing for either his spot or Sidey's.
And BTW, Carlton's plan of tanking for 1st round picks and giving a sackful of money (above and under the table) to Judd is looking about as good as Voss's plan for success. Richmond is in better shape than the Blues going forward.
and also agree on other posters that the scum would be belting the the top 4 door down if MM was at the helm over there. Nobody brings on youngsters better than MM and in fact he has a knack of reviving... Go Leroy.
Heard Parking talking on TV about the change in the game and how teams now have more multiple goals.
He mentioned that little Ratten rang him up when they lost Fevola and asked where is he going to get 80 odd goals a year from.... hahahaha
just imagine MM calling Mathews or Blight asking for advice on the obvious.
Go Pies

Not that I care but Carlton's problem is not its coach it's its recruiting. Carlton has spent the last seven years or more acquiring midfielders. It gets them by tanking, poaching, offering money and picking up rejects. But all it seems to get are midfielders. Judd, Gibbs, Murphy et al may be the third best midfield in the comp (behind us and Geelong) but what's the point of having a star midfield if you have no tall forwards, inadequate small forwards and no defenders at all!
I don't care how good Judd is, a side with Presti at one end and Cloke at the other (or for that matter Lake and Hall) will always beat them. And I hope they continue to make poor decisions come draft time.

A classic from the Blueview.....

It is called vaginitis.... It has slowly dispersed through the team since Gibbs brought it to the club several years ago. Symptons include an inflammation of the vagina. It can result in a weak attack on the ball and an inability to tackle and chase..
