Whilst it may not always be worth it and the last 8 years the Grand Final has been the opposite result to their previous meeting that year (So we stand no hope of winning the flag if we beat Geelong) but it would mean we could rest players over the remaining 3 weeks with no risk, get the easier final and then throw rd22 and hope Hawthorn reaches the Grand Final

AND back to back!!!
That'll do me, and John Lennon! :D
Well if Chapman is out of the Geelong side tonight , that has to be a good omen for your John Lennon theme.

Chapmans and Lennons and Magpies ........ Hmmmmmm 1980 was a bad year alround.

^ Remember it well, just got off work and driving home, and the news of that prick Chapman killing john lennon came on the radio, so upset i pulled to the side of the road distraught. Part of my youth died that infamous day, backed up by us getting smashed by the tiges in the GF of course.
Cats chapman is a big threat, hope he is out, Pods i regard as strictly a VFL player and nothing more .

I've asked this before...

I'm keen to watch the game live, but none of my options seem to be working. I'm in New York and I've caught plenty of games live on ESPN3.com, but they don't allow access by my current internet provider.

If anyone can help me out with some info/links, I'd appreciate it! PM me (rather than post), please, if you have any good tips.

I'd even pay a monthly fee if I could, but I think the AFL site provides highlights, and 24 hours after the game... stupid.

So if anyone can think of any free/paid services I could use (or 'other', of course :P) drop me a message. Really keen to watch the game!

GO PIES!

This morning i am getting quietly confident now. I simply cannot see us losing this, we are playing better footy than the pussies now, IMO, and although they won well, i was not overly impressed with their win over the hapless swans. We are hungrier than them, and a lot younger and quicker in pace. I reckon we will either smash em, or win a close one,i just dont think we can lose th

I agree, with the form and fitness of both sides, we really should win this.

It's no secret that some of Geelong's biggest names are struggling with injury (Ling, Chappy, Ablett, Bartel, Hawkins), so we may never have a better opportunity then tonight to get that win that will give our players, coaches and supporters that "belief" that you need to win a flag.

I'm so confident I've put money on us. :D

VFL update: Collingwood struggling again (down 26 at half time). But, McCarthy is killing it again, with 20 disposals in the first half.

Everyone's talking about Medhurst. But is this bloke the closest to breaking into the side? Has been best on field the last two weeks, and looks just about there this week too. This is his fifth game back from injury, so his fitness should be good. I reckon he'd be straight in, ahead of Medhurst, if Macaffer wasn't playing well, and may still be if Caff's form falters. he's definitely playing better in the VFL than Medders. Barring injury, I'm not sure he'll come in as anything but a replacement for Caff though. They're role is a bit too similar.

I don't think he'll break in for a finals appearance. Caff's got the games under his belt this season, and is starting to play good senior footy. But may be given a chance in one of the remaining home and away games, just in case he's needed later.

Edit:Pies have drawn to within a point, on a N.Brown goal, mid way through the last in the VFL. Umps giving us an armchair ride  with 3 goals coming from 50m penalties.

McCarthy and Lockyer have been our two best players.
Well done boys!

we've got the Octopus and Wigegoeera Joe in our corner. Try this one:

before I go
me shears and stones in the river I'll throw
and I'll never open sawbees to take another blow
til I prove I'm a Rybuck shearer!"

Good luck guys!

Can't underate the Cats. And I would prefer the Cats at full strength.

I'm tipping Cats by 7.

i got a really good feeling we going to dominate this game... pies by around 30-40 points. Lead start in 2nd then we just maintain lead into 3rd and 4th :)

Hope your right, but I certainly think it will be tight at half time, the third will be the good old premiership quarter.
