Poor kicking for goal cost us big, but we still could have won it, we were nine points up, trying our guts out. Then the damn yellow maggotts, was it stevic no doubt, stepped in to save their precious piss and poop mob. That acting free to rioli destroyed our momentum, and gave the dawks the intitiative. Once again, the umps ruined a great game, and gave it too thier beloved team, the macaveney wankers. On the other hand our overall effort was first rate, first class, we never gave up, get our kicking sorted out for goal, and we will do very well. Piss and poop were lucky tonight, we gave em one hell of a fright, and they better make the most of that win, because we are within a bees knee of turning the tables on the bastards, a lot sooner than they think. Time for a chivas or two. !

Very worried about next week, Port will be fired up and we have had 2 tough games in a row, need a couple of fresh players to have a big impact, main one is Toovey must go! Port are not at our level so we should win but who knows now?
Yep, I think Tooves might be nearly cooked. it's been a good career, but he's looked slow and a bit past it in the last few weeks. Unless you have a specific skills, this game catches up with you pretty fast. Matty Scharenberg, this might be your life !
Matty would'nt have a hope sticking to Reoli. The game was set up in the way the Hawks to get us on the rebound. It was a good bet to be on that game plan, we just didn't convert enough. Lets not forget they are the reigning Premier.
Great experience for both Moore and Mainard. We will do better later in the year!

That one hurts, we lost that game, Hawks didn't win it.

We kick straight at goal and we win rather easily, simple really.

Great effort, shocking execution inside 50.

Another very pleasing stat from this game was 9 clearances for Adams.

I've been noticing over the past month and a bit that his clearance numbers have been very disappointing, and this while losing clearances at times, particularly against Freo, hurt us badly. Tonight was much better from him and needs to become more the norm. His form hasn't been bad, but clearances need to be his main focus.
Well done boys!

Hawthorn play under a different set of rules than us. It's no different to how they can throw the ball, illegally dispose of the ball in tackles and the holding the ball rule is interpreted differently when they are tackled.

Structure my arse!
TO be frank though, both cloke and fasolo missed soda goals, easy ones, jesse did kick two, fasolo missed absolute sitters. We have to rectify this bad kicking for goal somehow. :?

A milestone. We are up there with the best, 2 years ahead of time. Tackling pressure was ferocious. Contested ball was outstanding. When the ball hit the ground, we smacked them. Mental toughness was outstanding. Clearances: brilliant. Our midfield was heroic tonight. Delivery: almost as good as Hawthorn, and that is their forte.
Devastated that we did not win what we should have, because the area where we are still deficient is accuracy in front of goal.
Cloke was absolutely awesome tonight in his physicality and in his pressure, except for scoring.
Jesse White played well , against the best opposition in the AFL, but likewise failed to convert accurately.
Hope this was a break out game for White. Has he convinced himself that he can mark and contest as well as anyone else?
I have been truly amazed by the awesome development of our youth this year, and the energy and mental toughness with which they are playing. I am not "pleased" with the loss of a game that we should have won, but I am stoked with the level of determination, toughness, and physical pressure that we are bringing to bear. Go Pies!!!

I agree that Toovey was dreadful but beware of getting excited by Williams' stats - on many occasions tonight his ball-handling was poor and his skill errors were as damaging in their own way as the misses up forward. Great trier but I'm still concerned that he lacks the close ball-control required to be a top-class small defender.
You might be one of the few.

Williams is in great form.

Used the ball at 77%.
Yes, it's a matter of perception. I tend to be worried by defenders who let the ball get away from them because they are fumbly. That's the concern I was identifying.

The little dog returned to his house of shame to fight the big dog.

He scared the shit outta the big dog but was narrowly beaten by Bigs' experience.

He'll be back !!

Hate it when we have more scoring shots and we blow it...
