What it shows is that mature players have relevance if they stick at it and work hard, they have equal opportunity of breaking into the senior side if they’re good enough. Jones at Carlton, Kelly at Geelong and our own Mihocek prove that. The moral is never give up. We see too much of that around the general community. The footballers are good role models to follow and not just our ones at Collingwood.

I think the difference with Murphy is he is only in his second year, was touted as a top ten pick in his draft.

When he did play last year looked the goods (he is only out of mind at the moment due to injury) I think the club is crazy if they don't give him 2 - 3 years more to show his skills.

A deserved shot. He knows he has a mountain to climb to stay in the team.

Just wish him the best and see what happens.

...or maybe not. Maybe he just joins the long list of players too good for VFL but not quite good enough for AFL! And by the way, people here crucified Jarryd Blair for 10 tackles every week!

Just so we are all quite clear about how the Club views Wills - the game is on the line, he's played only 50% game time and has had 9 disposals. Players are out of the game, injured and he's still warming the pine.

I'll be surprised if we ever see him in the Seniors again.

The stats wash up: 8 kicks, 4 handballs, 3 marks, 4 clangers, 51% game time, 1 contested possession, 1 free against, 5 tackles, 3 inside 50s.

Good backup player, but it must be the club's priority to get Sier back into the senior side as soon as it's realistically possible.

Well you can see the difference between AFL and VFL level. I still think he is worth persisting with while Adams is out unless Wells sets the world on fire in the VFL. What did everyone expect when it was his first game in what 2 seasons.

Excellent call. Only have to look at Mayne today whom embodied deer in the headlights and Hoskin Elliott whose been slow in readjusting to 2019 since returning from injury.
